AMEX has an onsale of tickets right now.
If anyone is still interested, I guess it's not truly SOLD OUT.

WEEKEND ONE AMEX

WEEKEND TWO AMEX

Ahhh thanks Kurt thumbs up
I was shut out for weekend one during original sales, so just spent about 15 minutes looking at various singles in the less expensive grandstand section similar to what I have for weekend two (a little over half way back), then decided to settle on the cheaper GA. Had it in my cart ready to go and then noticed it was AMEX only. Unfortunately my damn card is nearly maxed out, so made an online payment which won't clear until later this evening. Called the bank to try and rush the payment, but was told the same thing...Aarrgghh! lol

Hairball,
Are you in yet?

Yeah Kurt thanks again, mission accomplished - I'm in for both weekends now.thumbs up GA weekend one, S6 weekend two.
I'll think about a possible upgrade as the time gets closer, and maybe more tickets get released, but happy to know I'm in without having to go through stubhub, etc.

For what it's worth, GA prices dropping drastically on stubhub at or near $500 but with fees, etc. still over $600.
I just paid $435 total which breaks down to $72 per band, and while I might not be able to see anything lol, it will be a fun experience!

Led Zeppelin Turned Down $14 Million for "Desert Trip" Gigs

"According to The Pulse Of Radio and Showbiz411.com, Zeppelin turned down $14 million for two reunion performances. Jimmy Page said yes and Robert Plant chose to pass. So now you know which member of Zep to blame..."

Damn
That would have been sweet...

I can't believe Plant turned down $14 million to play Coachella with Jimmy and John. Its absurd. What if they had lost the lawsuit?

Had Zep agreed, ticket prices might have doubled beyond the high prices they already are, and it would have made chances to get them even harder.
With that said, it would have been fantastic to see them there.

They (probably Plant again) also supposedly turned down $85 million offered by Richard Branson for a small tour several years ago.

Desert Trip Rehearsals

Presumably in L.A.

Perhaps a warm-up gig? How about a stadium gig somewhere on the West Coast instead of another stealth club show?

Will Lisa Fischer be a part of these shows?

Got a Desert Trip "newsletter" in the mail yesterday...
Not much (if any) new info in it, but for those with GA passes, it did show a " GA Standing Only" area in front of the GA area designated for chairs and blankets.. that was news to me...

Counting Down..(!!!!)

Received an official Desert Trip email today stating:
"This is the first of several communications you'll be receiving to help you get ready for the adventure that awaits you"

Email includes loads of info. (shuttle, camping, site map, etc.), and says tickets for weekend one will begin shipping at the end of August.

Also included is this goofy video of happy folks having fun in the desert to the tune of Flight 505 prepping for the big weekends .

Seems the thread title is changing (at least in a post above) to rehearsals now as Summer nears end.
Well it was 22 years ago....but Charlie in 1994 was asked about tour prep:
_____________________________________________________

What do you have to do to get ready to tour?

"There’s no way you can practice doing this. You have to get your hands used to going, but you never really reach that until you’ve done two or three shows.
You’re just trying to condition yourself so that your arms don’t ache. It’s not really the aching, it’s actually the cramp that you get. [Rubs edge of hand]"
.
In your hand?

"Anywhere, anywhere. Your body, you know. You’re not doing anything, and all of a sudden you’re doing this for two hours, constantly, very hard.
And it causes certain reactions. So I, personally, spend at least six weeks practicing.
Most of the time it’s physically getting conditioned so that you get through a two-hour show.
You know, sometimes we rehearse eight, ten hours a day – for that reason. I do – I don’t know how the others look at it, got no idea.
The problems aren’t the same with a guitar player. Drumming is a very physical thing.
Well, I stretch, but see, I do that anyway. I really don’t do anything special, except practice when we are rehearsing.
I never practice with drums at home when I’m not doing anything."

She only toured with Nine Inch Nails for about two months in the Fall of 2013.
Now she is touring with her own band, Grand Baton.

Clearly Plant is not motivated by money.
In any case the Zep reissues programme will present a steady income.

The question might be, if Zep had agreed to play, who would have dropped out?
My guess would be Roger Waters.
