Great shot.
Confuses me (not tough, and just a little) as to why so many American flags at the gig. Seems there would be a lot more British flags at a Rolling Stones concert.

Tied (very hard) to make this show, but now I am (mostly) glad I was unable.
A free concert (mostly) for the Cuban fans. Bravo, Rolling Stones, Bravo!

It's just wonderful still seeing the news reports on the TV - can't help getting excited just seeing the stones making the headlines!

Really loved seeing how happy and high (on music) the Cubans looked.

Haven't been able to check in here much for this tour but still very much appreciate all the reports, photos, videos, etc.

Going to check out some of the youtube videos now. Photos on here amazing as usual.

Sorry, but people who have seen the Stones 150 times shouldn´t take the
place in the front row that was meant for a Cuban - who has never seen the Stones.

There were at least 100,000 Cubans there who haven't seen the Stones, and they all had an equal chance with Jan of getting into the front row. How many deserving Cubans should Jan allow to push in front of him before he is allowed to enjoy the show?

What do you do with people who are half Cuban?

Good question I don't know. Perhaps toss a coin just before entry ?

Nonsense to think that (non-local) fans should hold back from getting as close as they want/can to the stage for this (or any) concert.

The rabid fans are part of the show... a local fan seeing enthused westerners lining up and clamoring for the rail adds to their experience.

By watching the photos and videos, I guess 200,000.

News here and there says half a million

Yep, I read that too. But by watching this video I highly doubt about that. And this report written by someone who was in Havana says there was more than 100,000 people there.

According to an article published a couple of hours ago. "The Ciudad Deportiva sports complex in the Cuban capital, with a capacity of 450,000, was crammed. The sea of people flowed beyond into the streets, with crowds even standing thick on neighboring rooftops for a total of about half a million fans."

I have my doubts regarding the reported attendance as well.

Looking at pictures of the park, I can't see how it could accommodate 500,000 people, as it appeared to cover a similar area to a stadium. Don't know how many people gathered in the streets nearby - would these streets have been closed for the evening?

It will be interesting to see the official footage when it's released, and it would be great to see an aeriel shot to get an idea of just how many people were there.

Great photos, crap article. The usual from the Daily Mail.

It's been a long time since they've done something this historic. Maybe it's just a greatest hits outfit now, but this was special, a harkening back to their social relevance. Maybe only the Beatles could have beaten down these doors earlier, but they quit on us 46 years ago. Congratulations to 'the boys'. It's maybe the one concert Bill could regret not playing since his retirement.

I noticed that too. On second listening wondered if Charlie hadn't actually led Keith back in. Either way, much FUN. Ronnie had his guitar off and standing upside down on the stage. Loved the spontaneity of it.

They also didn't go off very well in Porto Alegre cos of the pouring rain.

There is only two posters of stuff on youtube so far, that I can see.

Actually the guy who posted the last four videos has put Cuba on there but then on description it says Bogota. Means only one poster so far I guess.

Looks great. Official attendance says estimated 500k, but looks like a huge soccer field. Maybe 100k?
