. As long as Mick is still able to shout his vocals we should be in for a good album in that case.Quote
HMS
DW has strong vocals and brilliant guitar work and you know that.

DW is 30 next year... just sayin.

Obviously HMS is on the wind up but at least half of DW is better than anything else around at the time. The cover, with Keith's strategically placed knee, has always amused me

Ofcourse I will buy it...But does Charlie really want to do it and if they dont let Ronnie contribute will it be another cd with just a couple of solid tracks...

No way. Not so soon after GRRR. This will be a be a new record with at least 10 new tunes, perhaps a couple of covers, imo.
As far as Ronnie contributing to the writing, I also hope that's the case, but in the end, they've just got to pick the best songs. Ronnie does seem to be on a roll lets hope he's got a few!

The part that's disconcerting are quotes along the lines of:
"We'll go in the studio and see if anything gels".
Well what if it doesn't?
Hopefully it will gel enough that they can record 'at least 10 new tunes' of a certain quality that live up to their legend - something that has been MIA for the past 30+ years.
Mick having stockpiled a bunch of demos might be a good start (cough), but then again maybe not.

Apart from Doom & Gloom, am I correct in thinking Mick hasn't produced anything substantial with the exception of some of Superheavy ?

Make lots of 12 bar blues/r&b songs, with different beats and in different keys, and then spend a lot of time on making melodies, choruses and arrangements.
I think that would be a great start, not unlike what they did for SG
