I'll take my chances with Willie Nelson. I'm pretty sure Iggy Pop was consuming a liquid drug on the Anthony Bordain show. He's another one who used to do smack but now he drinks like a fish and thinks that's OK.

I don't think there's any evidence that Iggy became a full-blown alcoholic after quitting smack the way Keith did.

So he had some drinks with Anthony Bourdain...wouldn't you?

And we don't know if Keith is or ever was an alcoholic. He can't smoke cigarettes as much at home as he does in public. There's just no way. Keith has his own life that we don't know about. Some days Keith looks healthier than the rest of them. Keith is in good shape.

Celebrities and athletes with millions have access to performance-enhancing drugs that most of us can only dream about...and they work.

Take Springsteen...pretty sure he's on an HGH regimen and maybe testosterone replacement. No shame in that, but he's doing something other than hitting the gym.

Maybe Keith really had the blood transfusions in Switzerland in the 70s? You've still gotta be smart, even if you have the best the illuminati can afford. They're all driven to live life to its fullest. Keith once said they're all lucky because they're wiry too. The guitars fit them well. It's as if guitars were made for them.

iggy is still an amazing performer. i got to see the post pop depression show & it was brilliant. & didn't even mind there were no stooges songs! it was a very subtle & lovely tribute to bowie.

Btw I would not feel so all alone. Everybody must read the Book Of Acts.

I'd stick with Iggy. He's one of the finest observers of his times you can find "on the market".
Had he been from a bourgeois upbringing he'd have graduated from the Ivy league and today you'd read his weekly billet in one of America's major papers.
But he grew up in a trailer so you can read his lyrics instead of following him in the "NY Review Of Books".

Pop's one of the best lyricists around, up there with Dylan (si si believe me).

Iggy's Post Pop shows were simply brilliant! I saw him in Chicago, then the next night in Detroit. I was stunned. A heartfelt loving tribute to his good friend, Davy Jones. Lovely. Iggy sang from the heart and was so full of passion and emotion. And the band were true believers who reveled in playing homage to their hero. Homme was brilliant understanding the alliance of melody and attack with Iggy's stuff. And they channeled Berlin on stage. Lovely. An incredible bookend from my first time seeing him on the Zombie Birdhouse tour with Nash the Slash.

Bill quit smoking due to COPD. He had to, simply. Seems like Keith and Ronnie have a strong pair of lungs...

I think I read somewhere Keith doesn't really smoke much, mostly used for an ornament.

Lovely interview, thanks for posting! Iggy's such a laid-back guy, no macho bullsh!t at all.

As for Keith's smoking ... yeah, maybe he does it a little more in interviews for posing. But he seems to light up every now and then. Considering that he did exercise some degree of self-control with harder drugs, he's probably pretty good at doing such things in moderation. Who knows.

Maybe he's a social smoker?

Keith is an addict/alcoholic/all of the above. Let's not kid ourselves.

For all we know he smokes one cigarette a day when he's not out on the town.
