Ronnie Wood has hired four nannies to look after his twins at night to make sure he’s as fresh as a daisy when he heads to the recording studios.

Ronnie, 69, is busy working with the Rolling Stones and is keen the girls cause minimum disruption to his night’s kip.

encouraged by photos of Keith at piano and on base...if they allowed Ronnie to bring some funk..back.....they could be on to something...high hopes.

Why? Keith and Ronnie both lost their bass mojo a LONG time ago. Bass is now the least appealing part of the Rolling Stones sound, with piano right behind.

Keith played a ton of bass on CH. And his little piano flourishes were sweet also.

If you want to hear a 'ton of bass' played on a better album, check out Bill's recent solo album.

<check out Bill's recent solo album>

I checked it out. Unfortunately, the sound of that album had very little to do with the Bill Wyman I loved listening to.

Keith's album, however, was a lovely listen – including his bass- and piano-playing.

Here are two examples, just to illustrate what I mean. Both are playing the same music, so it's within the presentation. One is dirty, the other one is polished.

I'm sorry, but I put on the Cross Eyed Heart CD on loan from the library. It was one those times you keep moving from track to track because nothing moves you. Soon the CD was over.

And, let me guess, Bill's CD is on «repeat all songs»? winking smiley

No, but the single is pretty damn good and out flashes anything Keith croaked out on CEH.

"Sadly, Wyman can neither sing nor write a decent song".

"Wyman and his band soon settle into a series of mid-tempo songs whose predictable arrangements
are matched by bland lyrics and a voice that sounds like it would much rather be someplace else".

Brutal.

That's pathetic. CROSSEYED HEART is excellent.

I know it is. You'd think Keith would have come up with something better after a quarter century wait.

What is really kind of interesting is that we really have no clue at all as to what it is or how it is lol? All has been very... very under wraps.

OK .. we know there is a strong blues influence to the product in some way or the product / album in one way or another but we know nothing about the brand new material ..or if that blues influence carried more over to the new material than usual or if they simply did blues covers and then all brand new stuff or ? .. Hmmmmm?

I think in three or four weeks or so we may know a bit more about the material or have a little 'idear' on what may be to come with it.... meaning very late July ... early August.

At this point, I'd settle for Mick to re-do the whole She's The Boss album, or Dirty Work (solo!)...

It's astounding that you play SHE'S THE BOSS and think it's CROSSEYED HEART.

You really need to throw STB away and listen to an awesome album. Like CH.

After a Stones song was played on a local radio station yesterday, the dj said:

"This will hold us over until their new blues album is released".

He probably knows as much (or as little) as everyone else, but then again he might have some inside info.
Maybe the Stones decided to scrap the new material (Mick's demos, etc.) and make it a 100% blues album.
