I can't see any reason it wouldn't be that, undertheradar!
Admiration overwhelms me - I was nowhere near "two eyes" sounds like "two Ys" but it does

So difficult for a non native english person...
So hard to find an answer or even a clue sometimes...

Let it rock!

Congratulations to Undertheradar well done my friend. Yes it is Ying Yang, you're my thing and you explain the solution perfectly!

I take my hat off to those who's first language isn't English...cryptic clues are frustratingly difficult without having the difficulty of translation and then the surreal twists on words and meanings. I wouldn;t even be able to try and do one in say french or german. You put us to shame even by trying!

Maybe "two questions" would have been better than "two eyes" ?

Evidently it was just right for undertheradar exactly the way it was! :E
Continued congratulations.

Thanks for the nod!smileys with beer

I agree with crumbling_mice about those who aren't natural English speakers, attempting these clues.. English is my official language and I struggle with the language never mind the clues! smiling smiley

I must admit I don't normally have the patience for 'cryptic puzzles' but I'm kind of enjoying Which Lyric Am I as A).. it's a stones game. B ).. as we know the answer is in a Lyric it means there is an end point and C)..we get to play with each other.thumbs up

My turn!!
A Scandinavian god turned them into a ghostly figure.

The sunshine bores the daylights out of me.

I think it could be she's so respectable but i haven't figured it all out yet ( if indeed any of it)

What i have come with right or wrong..

into = able
a ghostly figure = spectre

Anagram of able & spectre = respectable

I hope it's not a red herring
.........................

I'm off to bed now - best of luck!

Ah, but that would seem to leave out about half the clue, wouldn't it?

The sunshine bores the daylights out of me.

Yes I knew it wasn't the full answer (or any of it.smiling smiley
.. I was just sharing what I had to see if it helps anyone else..

I have also come up with

There is a female Scandinavian God called Sol...

She's so'l' and upon checking, sol is apparently a word similar to so.

Still haven't cracked the whole clue yet (turned them) and I could be way off course and it be a different lyric entirly.

The pace is high, it's hard to keep up. But congratulations to undertheradar and crumbling_mice
for both the question and the solution!
I start to get addicted to this game....

Now, on to studying scandinavian deity.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

I must do some work, I must do some work....

Off tangent from the respectable lyrics

I'm also thinking- 'She seems to glow brilliantly white'. from Cool Calm & Collected

... again, at he moment I can't fit it all in but it may help someone -it may hinder who knows..lol

best of luck

I must do some work, I must do some work....

'Must be hell living in the world
Suffering in the world like you
I say we we are heaven bound'

- 'It Must Be Hell'

Hel, Norse ruler of Helheim; 'heaven bound' suggests death, ghosts...

Clue: At the time of the song's release date, the person referred to could've been watching The Waltons or The Streets of San Francisco.

I'll bump this to save you all scrolling back through to get the original clue and the last one...

A Scandinavian god turned them into a ghostly figure.

Clue: At the time of the song's release date, the person referred to could've been watching The Waltons or The Streets of San Francisco.

Waltons screened between 1972-1981
Streets screened between 1972-1977

So concentrate on the songs from 1972-1976 I suggest.

Let it rock!

Clue: the "ghostly figure" had a lot to do with a somewhat lax apparel.

Dang, I really didn't think it'd be this hard. I thought you guys would pick up on things like with Olly's clues, and the things I wanted you to pick up, I thought, were fairly simple. Haha Maybe I shouldn't badmouth Olly's difficult clues, anymore.
