She used to run around with every doctor in town? No wait - I meant
how about a couple of limiters, like: Is it a Stones original and what yearspan?

Stones original from the 60s.

OK, another easy one

Old times are best for the doctor?[/quote

Thought I'd cracked it for a second. Yesterday's papers might work for "old times" but then I came to an abrupt halt. AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!

Someone should take all these wacky clues and construct a real crossword puzzle.

Problem is that the answers will have all been published here...

Not what I had in mind...

Was a heavenly utterance by a specific earthly individual

Hear the voice from experience A word from the wise.

Nope.

Was a heavenly utterance by a specific earthly individual - that was monosyllabic if not palindromic.

From a Stones song in the 60's

I think I have to give you that because it wasn't fair on US contestants. It is indeed Yesterday's Papers, the Doctor being Doctor Who. I thought he was at least known over there, but obviously not.

So Who wants yesterday's papers?

LoFL _ well, I know Dr Who but he never came to mind on that one.
A capital D would have helped! But each puzzle is a clue to the puzzler's mind, so
we'll do better next time, Green Lady!

Congratulations Harlem Shuffler [flinging more of that victory confetti]

... So just monosyllabic? Or palindromic, therefore not monosyllabic?

.....

Olly.

Monosyllabic but not palindromic in a strict sense, Olly.

Have to confess I'm British and I did wonder if it was The Doctor but I still didn't fully work it out. Green Lady, if that's one of your easy clues, please don't post a difficult one!

Is it:

'...Father ('Dad' being both monosyllabic and palindromic) ran and fell down on his knees
Said, "Sing and praise, Lord have mercy on me"...

- 'Prodigal Son'?

.....

Olly.

Yeah.... way way over my head...confused smiley

I can't even say monosyllabic if not palindromic never mind understand it

I used The Voice which is known as a heavenly utterence and an earthly individual is a sage ..also known as wise

So in the sentence the A word from the wise made sense...lol

I'll keep trying though..

I have one I can post later today, although I wouldn't call it the 'main event'.

Others' clues have been more succinct and have shown greater logic than mine.
