I'm not sure anyone would reasonably disagree with this.
The Stones - who essentially tour behind HOT ROCKS - are consummate entertainers. Their box office prowess is undeniable and largely a function of their having evolved an unmatched genius for "giving the people what they want."
Dylan, OTOH, plays sets 50% of which are songs recorded from his last 4 albums of studio originals, is a thorny "artist," constantly wrestling with his own muse in an attempt to get "at" something deeper, something elemental, something buried in the swampy subconscious of this land of the free.
