Nice indeed, last high profile tour for Taylor before the 50th and his only one without the Stones. Too bad the world saw so little of him...

Taylor was smoking on that tour. Real Live could have been such a better record.

This is so good. I was all ready for that solo on Maggie's Farm and they cut it there!? confused smiley Boy I wanted to see him stretch out at that tempo.
Hey thanks for this so much! Taylor's in sublime shape. I love this stuff.

It only works for you because your country doesn't block the video on copyright grounds.

He did two short tours with Alvin Lee band in 1981.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bob.

78 years old today...and he's getting better every year!

... then he should be average when he is approaching 100. Seriously, this dude is a pain in the ass onstage. Always was. Never cared for his own songs, always seemed to get a kick out of ruining them. Nevertheless I love him god bless his Bobness.

What a legend. There's nothing more to say. There's no one like Bob. No one at all. I grow to appreciate him more and more with each passing year. The fact that he doesn't stop putting out records, the fact that he doesn't stop touring, the fact that he doesn't care AT ALL about what people think of him. Bob does what BOB wants and its worked wonders for him so far. Love the fact that he's 78 and I genuinely think we still have at least 10 more years left of entertainment from him. I just don't see him going away anytime soon, and certainly hope he doesn't.

I´v heard that only one concert of this new 14-CD-monster-package is a professional recording - is that really true? The Trouble-No-More-box also has only one really good stereo-live-recording, the others sound like mono-soundboards. I`ll wait for reviews to come. Have the Bootleg-series of Rolling Thunder 1975 sitting on my shelve and haven´t listened to it until today. So I am not too impatient...

As much as I love most of his studio-work, his live albums mostly make me shiver... Budokan & Unplugged are very good imo, but the other ones ... uhm...

Yes thanks for sharing. This looks excellent. The whole project may end up being
the best in the series. So much to offer with the Rolling Thunder tour and all
the stellar musicians involved!

Taylor was smoking on that tour. Real Live could have been such a better record.

From Glyn Johns memoir book :

"My next meeting with Bob Dylan was in 1984, when Bill Graham, who was managing him at the time, invited me to produce a live album Real Live, while he was on tour in Europe. We recorded five or six concerts all over Europe, ending up at Slane Castle in Ireland.

Dylan returned to America when we finished, and I went home to do rough mixes of all the concerts to send to him so that we could discuss which songs and performances we should use on the record. Though we agreed on the songs, it turned out that he had a completely different idea about the performances, with him picking easily the worst examples of each track. I will never know if this was a test of some sort, but in my opinion the versions he chose were unusable. We spent several evenings on the phone talking about all manner of things. He was extremely pleasant and respectful, as in the end he agreed to use the takes that I was suggesting"

Maybe Dylan was right and Johns wrong? grinning smiley

White Face Bob is among my favorite Bobs, so I may have to go see this. There's a one-night-only screening here in Ann Arbor next Tuesday. It's at a movie theater where I once actually saw Dylan play a very intimate show, back in '96.

Can't wait that Scorcese/Dylan thing. A nice trailer indeed. It's been about the only reason I still have Netflix...
