Me too. Lots of crossover between the 2 sets of fans as well as between the bands themselves! Looking forward to this!

Bad news........The first four dates of this leg of their US Tour have been cancelled due to Roger Daltrey suffering from an "unspecified virus". That means the shows in San Diego (14th Sep), Anaheim (16th Sep), Las Vegas (19th Sep) and LA on the 21st Sep will not be going ahead. A shame as I was planning to see them in LA. Anyway, get well soon Roger!

Very unfortunate Mr Chris, but you seem to have taken the disappointment well. As you say, get well soon Roger !

Well, if you are going to be in L.A. on the 21st anyway, there is always the Foo Fighters concert at the Forum (I know it's not the Who).

POSTPONED 2015 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

September 18, 2015
THE WHO today confirmed that they are postponing all remaining dates on their “THE WHO HITS 50!” North American tour. They had initially postponed FOUR shows on doctors orders after Roger Daltrey contracted a mystery virus. Initially it was hoped that the rest of the tour might proceed, but after extensive tests the seriousness of his condition became apparent when doctors diagnosed Roger as having viral Meningitis and prescribed a period of rest. The band apologize to fans and realize that the postponement will cause an inconvenience for ticketholders. It wasn’t a decision taken lightly–THE WHO always give their fans 100% and were never going to compromise the show, but ultimately the band had no alternative but to postpone the tour.

Roger was particularly disappointed as he had been especially looking forward to the Teen Cancer America benefit in Los Angeles, a charity that he and THE WHO have worked tirelessly for. Thankfully he is already getting better and said, “We are very sorry to disappoint our fans in this way. For the last four weeks, I have been in and out of the hospital and have been diagnosed with viral Meningitis. I am now on the mend and feeling a lot better but I am going to need a considerable time to recover. The doctors tell me I will make a complete recovery, but that I should not do any touring this year.”

Pete Townshend added, “We are rescheduling all the shows for next Spring 2016. We apologize to all our fans who have supported us in the last 50 years. Once Roger is completely well we will come back stronger than ever and Roger and I will give you all a show to remember.”

The tour dates being postponed are as follows:

I remember a 90-year-old Ravi Shankar putting tickets on sale for a show that was scheduled to take place the following year, and thinking that it would require a considerable leap of faith to buy them so far in advance. Seriously, when you get to these ages, you've got to plan for the near future.

Such a shame for all The Who fans who have tix for the gigs.

I was lucky enough to have seen them at Hyde Park and will eventually have a DVD as a memento of the gig which will be in Cinemas in October.

Just goes to show we have been so lucky with the Stones only having to postpone for medical reasons just a handfull of gigs in their later years, as performers in their 60's and now into their 70's.

I'm pretty sure when they announce the South American Tour for Feb/March 2016 the boys will be raring to go again and fit and healthy. smileys with beer

They had already cancelled the first few shows of this current leg which got me worried since I have tickets for Sept 29 show in Vancouver. When I heard the news that the rest of the tour was cancelled, I was disappointed but hopefully Roger gets well soon. I'll have to wait til next spring to see them.

Tour wasn't cancelled, but postponed. I hope they reschedule the Michigan show for a weekend. That's the only way I can keep these tickets. . . Get well soon Roger! Poor sod.

It will be the better part of 2 years since the tickets were bought by the time shows actually take place. I hope they bring the shows back up to the 2.5 hour range rather than 2 hours. All the best to Roger. That's a disease that is not to be trifled with.

Meningitis can cause brain damage and be fatal in some cases. However, viral
Meningitis is less severe than bacterial meningitis. The bacterial form of meningitis can result in a fatality rather quickly. The good news is the patient is more likely to have a full recovery with viral meningitis which is what Roger is said to have.

Roger is very fortunate to be under the proper medical care. As pointed out by
Crholmstom above, this disease can be very serious indeed. As fans we need to be
respectful of Roger's condition. Things certainly could have been much worse.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Who in Milwaukee and Chicago after Roger's full
recovery. Maybe we will soon have a DVD release of the Hyde Park show!

I met RD at the Tommy show in Vancouver in 2011. He was very friendly, spent time talking to both my son (then 13) and I and signed all sorts of autographs. Really nice guy.

Hope he gets well soon. By the time the show finally gets here- I think it will have been two years since I bought the ticket.....
