So...can anyone tell me how I can get a refund for Adelaide when (A) I was due to pick up the tickets from the ticket office in Adelaide before the cancelled show (so I don't have the ticket!), (B ) I don't live in Australia.

The refund info indicates that you need to send your tickets back by post, or go to the head office agency in Adelaide in person. Both impossible for me!

I have tried everything to contact ticketek but have had no success.

I think there is a contact us form on their website?

I once filled it out about how to pick up my Adelaide tickets but got no response though! Worth trying? Or call them, but that will cost you.

Maybe contact frontier directly? They seem very helpful..

Yep, i tried the email (3 times) and tried phoning but could not get through (expensive as you say). I also sent a message on F/B but got no reply, but that was a few weeks ago. I'll give it another go now that dates are definitely confirmed for later this year.

Cheers for the replies guys cool smiley

You could also print out your ticket order confirmation and mail it with a request for refund explaining your situation. They probably only need your details and transaction number to issue the refund. Mine took a week and a half after I mailed it for the funds to appear in my credit card. I think this may be your best bet?

I called Ticketet on that number and it took my quite some time, but they refunded ALL 5 concerts I intented to go. Also you should contact them by the Information given on the Website. All the staff at ticketet was very helpful and courtous.
I did not want to risk to Keep the tickets as I do not know right now if we might be able to travel again.

I did not have to sent in my original tickets even. Also I considder that they will Reprint the tickets kept for the postboned Shows. Otherwise it will be a complete mess with double sold seats etc.

I had rather hoped that when the shows were postponed that the fraudulent mis-representation that is Viagogo would take a hammering.

Sadly it turns out that someone who "bought" a ticket through Viagogo and chooses to go for a refund because they cannot get to a rearranged date, gets a full refund from Viagogo for the price paid for the ticket(s) and not just the face value. ie They had that angle covered.

Could you reformulate or elaborate? Is it good news for the buyer? It's seems so, but you say "sadly"

Sure.

In my view Viagogo is an elaborate fraudulent misrepresentation that results in fans having to pay w-a-a-y over the odds for ticket. It's institutional scalping.

I had hoped that the postponement of the tour would cause so many people to lose money (yes, very sadly, fans) that it would threaten Viagogo's business model (their reputation), and people would know about it and no longer use the vile site.

But, as I wrote, they have that covered. If you bought your ticket through Viagogo, you get back what you paid.

So their business model is not damaged and people will sadly carry on using them.

OK. Thanks. What your the Viagogo source: email or statement?

The information I got from Viagogo about the hypothesis of a rogue seller asking for a refund from Ticketmaster because of a new schedule, but NOT warning Viagogo of the move, so making impossible for the second market buyer to attend at the show, was this:

"We only pay sellers after the event to make sure buyers receive and can use valid tickets, therefore it is not the seller's interest to cheat on us and not get paid, be charged possible extra compensations and be removed permanently from our website."

Mmm... very serious stuff, I may change my nickname.. Also Viagogo should be named Viagragogo...

Well, that is no surprise (sadly) is it? Why would viagogo not refund the full price, why would they only give back the face value? They only refund money they already got, so from their point of view they of course don't earn those ridiculous undeserved money, but they don't loose absolutely anything. It is not that they would have to pay their money or extra money or anything like that. If they would only refund the face value, they would be out of business very shortly and from their point of view that would be the most stupid thing they might do. Again - sadly, because this whole scalping business makes me really angry.

Strange- the only communication I got from Viagogo in response to an e-mail was that they are "unable to offer a refund" as the show has been "postponed not cancelled".

Obviously coming from Canada to Melbourne is a hell of a trek so I would prefer to get my $ back and start over again. Anyone have any advice.

Cherry Bar said on Facebook this morning that they heard from a reliable source that The Stones will finish the tour in Melbourne and that it will be THEIR LAST EVER SHOW.

I wonder if there's any truth to that rumour. It seems there are no plans beyond 2014, and if indeed Melbourne is the last stop on the tour...

Not that the band would ever confirm such a thing. They may have a loose idea to do something again in a few years or even next year!

OK the official site says 25 October through 22 November, so that has to mean that 22 November is the last date. It would only make sense for that to be the Auckland show unless they plan on jumping back and forth between NZ and Australia. But that could be done,

But the source is inconsistent, because basically the same people who say Melbourne is the last show are also saying Melbourne is coming in at a much earlier date, very near the beginning of the make up dates.

So for both rumors to be true, then by simple math they are not rescheduling all the shows and nothing in November. Its kind of hard I would think to propagate both an early Melbourne date and the story its the end and have people overlook the inconsistency. Now if when the dates are announced Melbourne is indeed 22 November, Ill worry more.

Check their Terms & Conditions. Looks like it's covered to me.

2.12 Ticket Fulfillment. Once the Seller lists tickets for sale, the Buyer purchases these tickets, and the Seller has confirmed the sale, the Seller is responsible for completing the transaction with the exact tickets the Seller has listed. Tickets sales must be fulfilled via the delivery method indicated at the time of sale directly to the Buyer and no later than the shipping deadline communicated to the seller at the time of sale (“Must Ship By Date”).

If the Seller lists tickets for sale, confirms the sale and then is unable to deliver the exact tickets listed, viagogo reserves the right to cancel the Seller’s sale, find replacement tickets for the Buyer and the Sellers may be subject to a replacement fee, other charges, and/or other consequences, as specified in Section 5. We will make reasonable endeavours to provide comparable or better replacement tickets for the Buyer. Invalid tickets: If buyers are refused entry to the venue as a result of invalid tickets we may refund the buyer at any time. Invalid tickets are defined as anything where buyers are refused entry. We will collect proof where this is possible but in some cases viagogo reserves the right to refund the buyer and not pay the seller even if proof of non entry is not presented. In the event that an event is cancelled or re-scheduled, viagogo reserves the right to cancel a seller’s transaction. If for any reason your tickets are returned to Us or cannot be delivered We will attempt redelivery for a maximum of three times. We endeavour to rearrange delivery with the customer or arrange a collection point. If this is also unsuccessful We will not offer a refund. We attempt to ensure all tickets are delivered in time for the event, time scale permitting We may require a venue or box office collection (‘pick-up’).

Time Waits For No one. Stones to end in Melbourne ?

Guy who runs Cherry Bar in Melb is a connected Stones fan.
Is generally VERY reliable.
He posted this tonight.

"Just heard probably the biggest 'rumour' of my life and from a very informed source.
Are you ready?
When The Rolling Stones return to Australia for their rescheduled shows in November, they will end their tour in Melbourne.
And...it will be their last ever ever show!
The Stones to end it all....in Melbourne. Can you believe it?!"

could it be the rescheduled Rod Laver, Hanging Rock, or a new date ?
I have readied myself too say 'goodbye' this tour.

I could have made up that rumor. Its possible, but any idiot could say that about any last date of this tour. They are 70 and can't go much longer, but those are always out the window when they announce more dates. I'll believe it when either Mick Jagger or Keith Richards dies. They are never going to say they are done.

Re: Time Waits For No one. Stones to end in Melbourne ?

Sounds like typical promoter's talk. If they do end touring it will likely be in London or maybe NYC.

They still play great, why should they end it?

What they need to do is write some good songs together and put out a studio LP.

If they are still able to perform on stage in a few years they should do a limited tour to support it.
