You don't believe....this is the best tribute band in Italy....look at the video!!!

Wouldn't say that. All tribute bands lack energy as does this one. The 'Keith' has obviously studied his stuff...but it's just boring.

What a load of crap, I have never seen any tribute band worth watching. A friend of mine once invited me to our local corn exchange to see a Stones tribute saying it was a cheaper way of seeing the Stones, I didn't go, I just couldn't , I would alway feel that I was wishing it was the Stones.

Why do you take it so seriously?

It's just people having fun playing the songs they like.

And as for lacking energy ... I've seen lots of great cover bands.

The stones themselves were a cover band!

I've always liked the Blusing Brides. I used to see them in Halifax, nova Scotia when I was a kid and always stood right at the front of the stage. Maurice Raymond is the lead singer and has been doing it for thirty years. He's fantastic...

Thy also released an album many years back with a great tune on it called "What's you talking about." that I always liked a great deal.

They are still gigging after all these years.

Here's the site [theblushingbrides.com]

Here's a link to some recent live performance

This is a valid point.

No tribute band is ever going to look exactly like the Rolling Stones, nor are they ever going to sound exactly like them either. That doesn't mean that the tribute band will be crap at playing the Stones' songs. Some bands are very good at getting that Stones feel and others never get near to it. You take your chance, just don't assume that you won't enjoy it unless you try it.

Try it here:-

When the Whip Comes Down

You'll notice that we're not a tribute band but a cover band, just like the Stones were originally.

On the other hand, the Rolling Stones are unlikely to be appearing at a club/bar/theatre near you, and if they did you wouldn't have much chance of getting a ticket.

Take a chance, life is short.

Maybe there's NO Stones tribute band worth watching but the Australian Pink Floyd Show is really, really scary. These guys got it down pat. It's been reported Pink Floyd even allows them to use their stage setup. Roger Waters must be fuming if that's true.

As long as they don't want to look like the stones it's no problem for me.
The last time I saw a tribute band it was Ok with me they didn't look like the Stones they didn't sound like the Stones but it sounded good

wow... the kingstone videos on youtube are really good. They guitar sections sound like exactly the same as the stones; only the singer sounds different.

Impersonations makes me laugh, but when we had this thread a couple of weeks ago, there was a video (see the link below) with Smoking Stones. This version is really great IMO, but I still can't get that people volunteerly dress, get hairdos and rehearse the moves of the guys in a band - and try to make a career of it. Great fun anyway...

Not bad, but why watch it and go and see them when you can listen to the Stones??

That's exactly what I was to say. What's the sense in playing other people's music, trying to dress and act like them? Don't get me wrong, I like to play stones songs on my guitar at home and like to think I'm keith winking smiley but why do it in public??? The smoking stones don't sound bad at all, but the fact is that there already IS a band (called the rolling stones by the way) which does it best and noone will get close to their way of playing, etc...

by the way, the drummer of the 'kingstones' sucks... sorry about that.

I guess some people just have more ability than others to let loose and not take themselves or the stones music that seriously. I guess the guys do cos they really enjoy playing good tunes.

It can be really fun and most of these guys are technically more proficient than keith and ron at the moment anyway.

just wanted to say....I'm not a member of the "kingstones" band! I just watched them on YouTube and liked them!!!

<Horrible. Horrible playing>

I haven't seen all the videos, but Smokin' Stones do NOT play (or sing) horrible. Listen to the back up vocals-arrangements on Ventilator Blues. Priceless!

Sorry for repeating myself but I just can't see the sense in tribute bands whether they can play well or not. I would rather see a band who play their own material really well and perhaps play a couple of Stones numbers but in their own style.
