I haven't been able to tune it very much but I'm home for George and Abe's birthday Holiday, so I did just watch the ice dancing finals. I got a little teary-eyed, it was so beautiful. Congratulations to all the winners.

The ice dancing finals were great, with deserving winners. BUT what ticked me off were the NBC analysts saying that these were the greatest ice-dancing performances ever known to man, etc., and I'm thinking, have you "experts" never heard of Torvill and Dean????

I wasn't really impressed with the winners. To me it was a predictable, cookie cutter type of performance. And those outfits, very tacky. I was much more impressed with the Bobrova/Soloviev skate, very passionate and unusual. But hey, I'm not an expert, just a spectator, so what do I know.

Best race I ever saw. At least best 10k ever. Those eyes, that flow.
A pity the Norwegians quit. The great champion Johann Olav Koss wasn't amused by that action. It would be nice to see Koss back on the ice again as coach of the Norwegian team. He's one of the very greatest and a very nice person too.

Look out for Latvia tomorrow. They are actually a very good team. I think Canada will win though. But not with a very big margin. This match might be a close call...
