I listened three times to that CYHMK alternate version and it's brilliant.
By the way...nice sum up,DP.

If you still listen to it on a regular base over a year I'll send you a good bottle of wine!
One year, if I count one listening a day, let me listen this song 365 in a row, the lenght is 3'23, if I'm right, in about 21 hours it will be over, you can go to order this good bottle of wine. smileys with beer

Now that's an alternate version!!!

WOW!!! Check out the 2 minute mark of the Alternate Bitch....Mick sings "Can't you see I'm the only one.."...the vocal melody, it's straight out of Highway Child.

I caught that!!

Yeah by solo I was referring to the pointless guitar babbling Taylor indulges in at the beginning of the take.

As "inspired" and awe-inducing as his work on the Marquee version of "Dead Flowers". grinning smiley

With the Stones you have to bring quality not quantity... "Hey I'm a lead guitarist so I crap my (tired) pentatonic fast licks all over the band's tracks!!"

This pretty much sums up Taylor's whole contribution to the Stones for me. He added some fine things to their music aswell, but the majority of what he played, especially in concert, could be described as above.

I must admit MT shines on this unreleased version of "Bitch".

This is where I need help. Is it Keith who plays some of the Chuck Berry lead riffs? With all the overlaying he had more than one guitar in there, correct?

Great alternate Bitch. Really good. Love it, and no overdubs. Really great that they take this approach here. Great...

Wow! That version of Bitch just blew me off my chair.
So Keith is in the left speaker and Mick Taylor on the right?

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Keith burns on this and everyone else shows why they were who they were. It's not as tight or controlled, or slow building as the final version, but it rocks like, well, a bitch. Great to have.

Superb version! Just live in the studio. Great take!
In the passage when Mick sings "....the only one" it's exactly the same as he does on the outtake Highway Child from 1969. Can we say that Highway Child was an early Bitch?

It sounds like some of Keith's licks here were kept for the original version.

It starts out a bit hesitant, but when they get the groove it simply burns, burns, burns! thumbs up

A real cracker! This, CYHMK Alternate and Leeds (stereo with missing tracks) is worth the price in my opinion. Now I'm excited.

Anyone know how to pre order this? It was on the official store but is now gone. This is how I planned on getting the bonus tracks on vinyl.

Holy shit, what a fantastic version of Bitch! Makes you realize why some people say Jagger is the greatest rock singer of all time. I mean, how can you not get fired up as an instrumentalist with a front man like that. Fantastically sultry stuff.

The official Sticky Fingers is such a clean and shiny product, an album welcoming a new era. These alternates show how much the album is steeped in the sixties. I’m hearing Monkey Man, Highway Child. Something was gained in the production, something lost.
