I'm usually a sucker for a re-issue, assuming it has something new of value (and I think this one does), and I don't mind forking over some cash for a box set, but I think I'll pass on this one. They're betting that I want that Leeds CD enough to buy the Super Deluxe Box when they could easily have included it in the Deluxe set instead of the dumb 2 song Marquee DVD, I'm betting I don't.
I'm with you there NoCode.
Just cancelled my Superdeluxe edition too !!

Erik the final ironic twist would be that the bunch of Roundhouse songs would stem from the early show which, by accounts posted here, wasn't as good as the late one.

Is that true?

This is great. Charlie's drumming pays NO MIND to the studio track!

I went for the cheapest option; the standard 2CD release. No point in getting that deluxe edition for 50 pounds that only features a 2-track DVD plus pinups of the guys. The vinyl release isn't much point in either, as I suspect it to sound much more processed than the original vinyl album.....like the case was with Exile On Main Street
Of course the complete Leeds show seems tempting, but it's not worth 100 pounds extra. I'd rather download them 2 additional tracks from the web
All in all, this seems like a wasted oppurtunity. Had they included the complete Roundhouse show.....or some other 1971 show apart from Leeds and Marquee; I'd be satisfied. 5-6 songs from Roundhouse (far better than Leeds, performancewise) is merely a teaser......but better than nothing, of course

NME magazine lists the top 10 Stones albums on their website. Not surprisingly, given the rerelease, Sticky Fingers is on #1.
1 - Sticky Fingers
2 - Exile on Main St.
3 - Let it Bleed
4 - Beggar's Banquet
5 - Some Girls
6 - Aftermath
7 - Goat's Head Soup
8 - Tattoo You
9 - It's Only Rock'n'Roll
10 - Between The Buttons

I thought you had gone forever, Erik and its great to see you back. Leeds would be tempting for me only due to the fact that I was there. But as you say £100 its a bit steep.

Can anyone share excerpts from this article. "60% music, 40% drugs", who was that attributed to?

I think all the Stones were always like that. The studio version
is always the blueprint, the live versions are always different.
They just can´t/don´t want to play it two times the same way.
That has always been their anarchic/punky attitude.

I humbly admit I was wrong. I don't bother tracking stuff down here. Far too much time involved......
