I love it and I like Mick's voice on it, his singing is much better after SG bonus tracks
and I enjoy audience's reaction. They have to play this song more, people seem really like it

So happy to hear Mick Taylor playing with the stones! Unfortunately my sixteen year old and I were not able to see them on Monday 5/20/13 at the Staple center. Not being able to afford tickets we took a chance on buying tickets on the street at the Staple center. I found a fellow who over heard me say that I just wanted my son and I to get in without paying an arm and a leg. He pulled out two tickets and wanted a little more than I was willing to pay but it was already 9;05. We made the deal and proceeded to the door. After the security check, our tickets were scanned and discovered that the tickets had already been used. My sixteen year old and I were escorted out of the building. We were heart broken. This would have been the first time my son would seen the stones live. I grew up with the stones and have been a fan since the release of "Satisfaction". My son got hip to the stones when the only music he was able to download to his Ipod was my music library that was filled with Stones songs.I even taught his some songs on guitar. Money was tight when stones tickets went on sale but I was able to put some money together for Monday's show. After being kick out my son and I found some benches by the doors to the staple center where we were able to hear the stones play a truly fantastic set. That was the best we could do. I took a big risk buying scalper tickets, this was only the third time since the early seventies when I started going to concerts that I did this. This time I payed dearly. There was a certain disgust when my son and I started to see people leave the concert around the time the stones played "Can't you hear me Knocking". We would have stayed to the end, even on a school night! My son was really looking forward to seeing them. I only hope the Stones come around again!

"Sway" does sound a lot better than it did in 2006. Thank you MT!

Yeah I remember being really disappointed when they got it completely wrong in 2005 in Columbus, Ohio...it did improve after that but it certainly doesn't hurt to have Taylor around ;-)

Jagger doesn't sound so good on CYHMK and Sway.

Jagger is excellent on Sway, imo. He found the right phrasing. On CYHMK he's just saving breath and a little early all the time to avoid long notes etc.

Excellent?

I do not agree!

I think my expectations were rather low, knowing how his vocals were on Sway on the BB-tour. This was ten notches up. Perhaps excellent is a stretch, but it was way better than expected, anyhow.

Can't You Hear Me Knocking:

please watch Mick and Keith during Taylor's solo in 'Knockin' at 7.09 - it'll warm your heart..pure Stones

Yeah that little piece of business is great. Even back it up about 20 seconds before that. Mick tries to get Ronnie to maybe cue MT to wrap up, but Ronnie keeps missing Mick's looks by a second. Eventually he's goes over to Keith, who seems to joke "Hey, I trying not to f*ck up my bit". Eventually Mick gets MT's attention and with a quick throat-slit gesture they are back on track. It's quite entertaining to watch them make it up, I mean really make it up on stage.

Fabulous.

The guys that made that timeless music doing it again.

Just fabulous.

Yeah and Mick has a huge grin throughout that whole section too, obviously a good time being had by all!

I've watched this part a few times...puts a big grin on my face...and I can't help rehashing it. This is what's going on, I think...Mick, looking at Ronnie, with an OMG face,.."Can you play like that...take a closer look'. Ronnie ambles over to Taylow with the same look. Mick goes over to Keith, points to his guitar, and like someone posted, 'And you, can you play that thing like that? Then Mick yells at Taylor..'C'mon. Already!!' (Get to the good part!)"..These guys are having a lot of fun, not taking anything too seriously, ignoring all the noise here and elsewhere. We are truely lucky too be able to still get all this...

The moment of the tour. The musicians stage a coupt d'etat and Jagger is no longer micro-managing each moment. He's joking with Ronnie and Keith, "Can you stop him?", Wood plays on and Keith just chuckles.... Interesting to note the intricate guitar part Ronnie plays here. He is filling in with some of Keith's usual riffs while Richards has simplified his own. Wood really is the glue here. His tone is perfect, he's doing a super slick subtle weave being the great professional that he is, reminds me of Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert. Ronnie has been brilliant on this tour.

This was what hardcore Stones fans have been waiting for all their lives. This was why they stood in lines for hours, paid too much for tickets, missed work time or begged off from family obligations -- just so they could follow the Stones around the state like true believers, dazed and ecstatic to finally hear those magic skeins of sound onstage for the first time. It was a real moment. It made up for every torture, every test of endurance and patience, every hoop that Jagger made the fans jump through.

And a lot of other good stuff but the writer seems to be convinced this was the last time...who knows, let's hope not!

agreed ! all players at their best !
keith is just great ,
bobby , it wouldn't have been the same without him, smashing!
micks singing is great too, i've no complaints
mick t - even during bobby's solo the tonal qualities he brings to the Dm chord is fantastic. he needs another minute to wind down to the outro
ronnie - see above
darrel seems to enjoy it too
charlie'sface in his close ups are a treat .

The look on the IORR members faces, when they look at the comments made on the look of the face of Keith when he looks at look on the face of Bobby Keys when he on his turn looks at the look on the face of Ronnie while watching Mick Taylor playing his solo at 5:24. Simply legendary.

Everyone raves about the solo, but to me, CYHMK is all about that wicked Keith riff, that he is a bit suspect on at times.

I pretty much agree. I love the solo, but my favorite parts are the opening riff and the second chorus, with its call-and-response (Jagger's not singing it, he's shouting it). I know that the second chorus will never sound right on stage because the vocalist can't blow out his chords in the middle of a tour, but they should be able to get the opening riff right (or at least passable). It should be all Keith and very crunchy.

I think MT answered every reasonable critic. Can he solo? Can he play well with the band? Is the band better with him? Do they respect him? Do they know this meek guy is a ficking national treasure?

I have to give MJ, RW and KR props. In that video they gave him legitimate respect. I now look forward to the Chicago shows...

The band is better on CYHMK with him, not on every song. The songs that need an extended solo are made for Mick Taylor, if he keeps up like this.

How do you know that? Some prejudices? We haven't heard him in "every song", but in every song I have haerd him playing so far with the band he has enrichen their sound. Even strumming in "Satisfaction".

And when was the last time that an audible crowd roar swept thru the arena because of the musical high from a guitar solo at a Stones' show (vs the 'performance' of, as noted by 24fps) like that version of CYHMK?

You nailed it. The crowd response took it to whole other level.

Bound to happen. bashers show up following a great night for us...

its funny to watch, they just cannot handle it.

you have a large percentage of people who ,for them the stones are their 5th favorite band.they're classic rock fans with a love/hate thing for the rolling stones.
they want the band to be good but not "too good".it might get in the way of their beloved beatles, who or led zeppelin being considered the no 1 band in the world.

so they play along. but when the stones do something just unbelievable they start to nitpick and just tie themselves in knots-

the ones who came here saying the stones were a scripted vegas act on autopilot are now going crazy with" uh,well its was a little sloppy.....and um at the 1:44 mark of the second song mick looked at keith a little funny and at the 2:30 mark of the 4th song taylor may have missed a note on the solo and.....
and they dont even see the irony of bitching for years about "autopilot"then the stones go completely off the reservation, bring freakin mick taylor back and start winging it and all of a sudden everyone starts reviewing the shows like they're talking about the london philharmonic orchestra.

look at the mick taylor thread and you'll really get a laugh.i have two favorites -one who registered yesterday and is posting non-stop about how the stones" arent as good as they once were",how "mick t doesnt fit the band anymore" and ...and ...[because what everone heard the other night didnt really happen]

the other- a guy who said something like"no way the stones surpass the beatles just because of this" [because the beatles have been the gold standard for live rock and roll for the past 5 decades apparently]

i'm all for everyone having an opinion but this looks a bit like one side of a political campaign in freakout mode trying to "control the message"

hopefully the feedback the band gets is that we are really proud of them for just playing the lights out and really bringing it on this tour.

there sure was was a large group out there WAITING TO BURY THEM,better luck next time, suckers.

Yeah, the expectations... I agree that he is doing better now than during the BB tour, but due to his other performances during this tour, I felt slightly disappointed. He usually has found a needed spark and a way to song to almost any 'new' song, and sometimes even to 'old' ones (war horses). Now he sounded going through the motions.

But who actually surprised me positively - perhaps due to expectations again - was Ronnie Wood. Damn that slide solo of his was aggressive and striking. That came out of blue for me - especially taken that I was waiting to Taylor to do it. Taylor was excellent - but that was no surprise (especially having heard "Knocking" earlier), but not quite nailing it (yet)Jagger seemingly lost his nerve to wait when Taylor gets his "story" finished, and stop it. I am sure Taylor will get us to the moon with his next take on it, if he gets a chance.

But those were just minor remarks - jezus hell how lovely is to listen this band now. "Sway" was full of any kind of mistakes, band sloppy as hell, but still making a helluva noise which moves this fan. It is such a joy to listen that unpredicatble chaos the three guitarists, bass player and the drummer are doing, and knowing that there is that "secret" ace there to put it all to a new level, when ever needed. Oh yeah, there is a guy in keyboards as well, or is there?

Agree with you about Sway, Doxa. The Ronnie solo was very confident and a pleasant surprise. My criticism is of Mr. Jagger. This is one of his most heartfelt and sincere lyrics. The song speaks of longing and bittersweet sentiments, yet he sings it like he's in a hurry to get to the end. Oh well, we can't have everything! But I liked it nonetheless.

oh man,no way.i love that kind of thing.when everyone has this idea that someone is finished, just over and done -
then they get off the canvas and throw a knockout punch.remember a few weeks ago when the shows were supposed to be half empty and it was "we hate to see them"go out this way" it was all fake anyway because half of them DID wanna see them go out that way..

people were going on the attack on spacebook, myface and all the little twitters were chirping...

remember the "social media put a steak in the heart of the rolling stones guy" ? whatever happened to him anyway...

oops,kicked the wrong dog,huh?
