Great for everyone who could enter at 85 USD. Apparently thousands and still far from packed. It must be hell for the Stones. "Look what you've done".

Thans everyone for sharing. Did they start handing out envelopes before the doors opened? Oakland arena is in the middle of nowhere, and trying to decide what time to get in line.

Doesn't sound like it makes a difference, but like the buckets at the El Rey it seems that the "randomness" depends on the window you choose, choose the wrong one you're in the rafters, choose the right one you're on level 1! Granted, we need more feedback to draw any real conclusions.

[BEGIN OT]@phd - can you point me to the thread where it says it wasn't packed? So far I've seen reports saying it was packed [END OT]

Thank you to everyone who reported on the $85 tixx. Sounds like a decent gamble but that many people did end up in the worst seats in the house. I am taking my better half to two shows in Chicago, both with lotto tickets. Hopefully the gamble pays off for atleast one gig.

$85 seat experience?

But first, are you experienced?
Have you ever been experienced?

They lines were long because they had to unload a Sh*t load of tickets at the last minute. Price them reasonably and you fill the place up no problem. Ask for $650 and you have a problem .

Does anybody Know if any person picked up more than one pair of tickets on the same credit card? Were they cancelled or one pair cancelled or any info on that.

The closer we get to show time the more $85 tix will pop up. Thats just the strategy, first sell as many overpriced tickets as possible then fill up the venue with $85 tickets.

And in the end both sides were right, those who said that the overpriced tickets will not sell well and those who said the shows will be sold out tongue sticking out smiley

It's the pricing strategy that airlines use, and that works exceptionally well.

After all, I've never heard of an airline going bankrupt, have you?

Many Airlines have filed for bankruptsy over the past forty years.

NO!?! REALLY??

Hey Trace, now I understand your orignal post was sarcastic. Sorry i did not get it the first time.

No problem! I've been called a lot of things, some things that I don't dare post, but Trace has never been one of them.

I like it.

I know someone who was first in line, got there at 10AM, his seat was at the very top (last row) of Staples nosebleeds. Some of you may know him, but that's not for me to reveal who it was.

Wow, now that's a huge gamble I would not want to take...Looks with like the 85's your destiny is soley based on luck and nothing else.

Wow. Thanks so much for the reports, all. Really appreciate you all being the 'guinea pigs' of sorts and letting us know how it went.

I bought a $450 ticket in 219 for the Anaheim show 5/15 and was thinking I might try to resell it, since I also scored the $85. But, I now think what I'll do is keep it and sit in whichever of my 3 seats is the best grinning smiley

If they're just handing out white envelopes and not escorting people or anything, I may have a chance to resell my two unused on the street before the show (or if it's early enough, post here for an IORR'er to meet me somewhere for them...) May still have some friends in SoCal that would want to go, tho...

(out of my mind they played Emotional Rescue. Yep, it's a lot to pay nearly $700 for three tickets, but screw it - it'll be worth it winking smiley)

Shit, I'm glad I paid $1500 for the VIP Pit ticket. Wonder how that went? My boyfriend and sister have the $85 tickets for Chicago. Hope they get something 1/2 way decent.

I've seen two openers (RFK 1994 and Oakland 1999) and both were absolutely fantastic. You're always posting some miserable old lady nonsense. If the Stones and the Stones experience are such a drag for you, why don't you go back to the nursing home and leave it alone.

I ahave seen a bunch of Stones tour opening nights too e.g. Chicago, Boston.... and they all went pretty damn good.... except for Mick in that cage thing... but besides that, they were all great.

O2/25th wasn't too shabby either...but getting back on topic, still no reports of pit admittance with the $85 lottery?

Here's my predicament;

I was at work so my wife bought $85 tix for me and my son so the order is in her name. We have the exact same credit card.

I will be bringing her card, my card, her ID, and mine.

How strictly were they checking?

Wasn't able to get 85's on the first sale date, but had a pair of $250s in Section 306 as a back-up obtained in the citibank presale. Opted to return the 250s for a refund when that choice was offered by AEG when the date change to 5/3 was announced, as I could see by then that I would be unable to recoup that purchase on the resale market. (By that time I also had obtained 85s for the Las Vegas and the 5/18 Anaheim shows, so I had other options for this leg of the tour rather than to spend $550 for 2 seats in the upper deck of Staples.)

Finally was able to obtain 85's during the noon drop yesterday.

Got to Staples around 8 and went to will call. Line was a concern initially as it wound from Staples Will Call window down to the end of the block and snaked back and forth a couple times...but it was orderly and moved fairly quickly, and I had assumed show wouldn't start before 9. Finally got to the will call window a few minutes before 9. Experience was similar to others here...showed my ID and confirmation and the rep at the window handed me an envelope. Our seats were in the last row of Section 106...far better than what we expected. Quite pleased with the way things worked out.

I figure I'm ahead of the game even if we wind up in limited view seats in Vegas and Anaheim...and will be looking again for drops for the 85's for the 5/20 show.

Re: "Thousands" of $85 Tickets - latest news!

So AEG's line about the final production set up freeing up some seats (terrible ones it appears) holds a bit of truth, but I'm wondering why so many seemed to be unobstructed views near the back of the 300 level sections all around the arena? Weren't these $150 seats the first to sell out? Would like to hear reports of how full the floor and close 100 level were. It seems like the majority of the day of $85 ticket drop would have to be located in the $600 zones. Also, any reports on if the scalper's sites prices dropped below face? It didn't look that way to me. I guess I'm looking for people's opinion on how full the house really seemed to be.
I've got my single $250(!) section 216 for here in L.V., not a one of my friends would drop the coin with me. Will do my usual cat and mouse with the MGM ushers and hopefully work my way down. At the March 4, 2006 show I ended smack dab behind Robert Plant, he is taller than you think, btw...
