It was the most unorganized f-up i have ever experience, waited in line for 2 hours, then all they did is look at you id and give you tickets, THEY DONT EVEN CHECK IF YOU HAVE AN ORDER OR CREDIT CARD OR ANYTHING. we were in the nose bleeds, and the guy behind us got 109. LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR - ANYONE WITH A DRIVERS LICENSE COULD GET IN. no checking if you had an order or anything, they just had a pile of envelopes with 2 tickets in and if you were in that line they gave you a pair. i am not even exaggerating. unreal

it's true...

we got there at 4:30... waited at will call till 6:30. Line opened. The Stones video crew interviewed us and asked what we would do if we got tongue pit tickets??!! That kinda got us amped up. Then the lines got huge behind us.
My girl and I showed her id and cc and got a white envelope. We opened it amd got section 306, the last row up in the rafters. my sister in line behind me got section 106... my other friend and his date got 106...
my other friend got VIP premier tickets. So the envelopes were all random.
Truthfully we were a little disappointed we got the worst seats possible. Especially since we were the ones that told our friends about the 85$ tickets and they weren't big fans. They got the. vip necklaces. It wasn't disappointment at the stones though. Our friends scattered to their vip area. We went to 306 and got over it. But when the stones came on, I grew very disappointed at the PA's acoustics. The upper ceiling seats in the back had no speakers directed in that area. The bass was muffled. Lots of delay and odd reverb. You could barely hear Mick Jagger's voice or what he was saying. I read what he said on google news. Didnt realize he was telling jokes etc... Keith Urban was rad. We could hear his guitar very loud. But that was about it.
About halfway through, my girl and I decided to take a smoke break. We
were really sad bc it was her first stones concert and I at least wanted her to
be able to actually hear the stones (if we couldnt see them)..
On our break, I told her we should just leave now amd mot spoil the rest of the show. This is terrible. So i was thinking we'd leave. But I asked guest services about changing seats. I wasnt trying to hustle a closer seat whatsoever. Im jus really picky about the audio (it's my line of work)... The 300 sections shouldnt be sold whatsoever until they get the PA tweaked out more and add lots of speakers. Like I said, I wouldve paid 600$ per ticket had I known the $85 seats were going to be so bad. I don't recommend section 300 anything. Big disappointment.

Anyway, I told guest services, can you just give us tickets to a louder section? we dont need to be closer... just wanna be able to hear the show. So, they gave us two tickets... they ended up beong VIP stage right. Section P1/obstructed. We were stoked. didnt care about obstructions. We ram from the third floor to the vip section an found our seats in row 11. It was phenomenal. It sounded amazing. We saw their backs for a lot of the show. Could see Charlie stomping the kick... could see there is a stage desk behind his drum kit... where a audio tech stands tuning amd checking keefs guitars before handing it off for the next song. Could see the backstage area behind the set. Saw Mick changing into the Jacket. Ronnie Woods smoking back there... etc. We got down there a song before Missed you... Jager was really getting warm at that point. Dancing like mad man.

It was miraculous that we got better seats.
We were happy again... very.

I was most impressed by Jager's voice. So inspiring.

I really wanna go back again to May 20th... but honestly...
Very bummed out about the whole $85 ticket process.

Here's a quick recap:

1. Registered several days ago for the $85 ticket sign up about 20 secs after the tweet came out. System indicated we'd get an email today about purchasing the tickets. We never got that email from AEG.

2. Thursday saw the tweet about $85 tickets going on sale. 10 seconds later i was on the site and calling friends. I was able to get my pair and call friends for their credit cards and order their pairs too.
All the tickets came up GA-Pit. But we realized that was no guarantee.

We were all in will call together... about place 100 in line. Random white envelopes:

We got sec 306, 106, 106, and a Premiere Package

ISSUES:

1. GA-PIT on the email and website before you buy the ticket is very misleading.
If it's a generic placeholder tag, why choose GA-PIT before the purchase is made?

2. It seems illegal to advertise only 1,000.... $85 tickets are available. Blatantly untrue. Fictitious ad. Probably illegal bc you are buying the ticket knowing there are only 500 pairs and your odds for good seats are good.

3. The acoustics in sec 300 sections are horrible. No speakers angle in that direction whatsoever. Get someone who can design a touring rig that reaches those levels if you are going to sell tickets there.

This is not an angry rant btw. I just want others to have my full experience incase you are hedging bets on the $85 last minute offer.

I think the Rolling Stones management totally dropped the ball on fans and so did AEG. Obviously these issues have nothing to do with the band.
And obviously the ticket receipt said it's not the ticket... but it also says 2xGA-Pit for 170$. Which is obviously confusing. Two competing legal clauses. I think the one on the receipt next to the $ amount paid should he controlling. Not the email confirmation box. Anyway, staples center staff made our night.
And the stones were awesome. VIP area we got into had a lot of open seats. Anyway. Very touching performance by the stones. I wanna go back for May 20th but the $85 thing rubbed me the wrong way. The last thing you wanna do is lie about how many were available. And i'd never expect they would be the very back row on the top level.

Good moments: Carrying around a sign that said "50" and having people stop and asking me if i was selling tixs for 50$? Im like no. It's 50 years of this band dumbass. Got interviewed by the stones film crew, usa today, and la weekly for cheerleading outside hahaha!

Final thought: just buy the tickets you want... dont gamble on the 85$...

btw nobodies ass is gonna escort you to section 306 last row.

Will we go again ? Probably not now. The Stones need to fire the ticketing execs and legal team that concocted this mess. I honestly wouldn't mind suing AEG for the false ads. And the GA-PIT phrase. I could spot about 20 laws broken off the top of my head. I'd also classify it as an $85 lotto, probably unlicensed in Cali and other states... and they lied about the odds. I'll get over it. but hopefully this helps someone make a fully informed decision when purchasing tickets for the rest of the tour.

Well... good luck to everyone at future shows. I honestly hope you get in the pit!!! And that you're excited to see them. They were rad! Many amazing moments.

-mixed emotions. haha

Sorry to hear that your initial experience with the 85's was so bad. Yes, the 85 dollar tickets are a lottery of sorts that's why I'm not getting my hopes up too high. I mean it's not impossible that there are only one or two pairs of $85 tongue pit tickets available per show. Also, I have not heard of anyone getting $85 floor seats yet. Still for $85 a ticket it's a gamble I'm willing to take. Guess I'll find out in Vegas.

Thanks for the reports. As advertised, a "you pays your money and you takes your chance" deal. Suspect the first night chaos will get sorted and distribution will be smoother going forward. Especially if there are more massive ticket drops in the offing.

@eddiem - the availability of $85 tickets was promoted as "over a thousand" from the outset. Clearly last night it was well over.

The closer we get to show time the more $85 tix will pop up. Thats just the strategy, first sell as many overpriced tickets as possible then fill up the venue with $85 tickets.

And in the end both sides were right, those who said that the overpriced tickets will not sell well and those who said the shows will be sold out tongue sticking out smiley

It's the pricing strategy that airlines use, and that works exceptionally well.

After all, I've never heard of an airline going bankrupt, have you?

Many Airlines have filed for bankruptsy over the past forty years.

Did anybody who ordered mutiple pairs on the same card have any issues? Were they given the tickets or were they cancelled as some IORR members have posted would happen.

$85 seat experience?

Hi LA - feedback please on the $85 tickets. Was seating random, preset, or first in line had better seats? Planning for Oakland and looking for feedback.

Thanks!

LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR - ANYONE WITH A DRIVERS LICENSE COULD GET IN. no checking if you had an order or anything, they just had a pile of envelopes with 2 tickets in and if you were in that line they gave you a pair. i am not even exaggerating. unreal

maybe they started out the day checking if people had an order, and that made the line too long, so to speed things up they stopped checking, and just figured no one in their right mind would wait 2 hours in line without an order....

I had PR 5
Rockman had section 103
Justin was up in 305.

It looked like the tickets were totally random, when you get up to the window they hand you a blank envelope with 2 tickets in it.

Re: $85 seat experience?

It does seem like a random draw with 2 tix handed to you in an envelope.

You pay yer $85 and you take yer chances.

The checking I.D. etc. are known to the buyer,so it is a deterrent to the scalpers.

How they impose these checks is unknown till you get in line I guess.

Things could be differant at the next gig. Who knows. eye rolling smiley

Section 208, where the going rate was $485. Was OK. I waited an hour, showed my ID at the window. The chap talked to someone out of view, who maybe had a list, and handed me the envelope. Must admit it went more smoothly than expected. I'm really not sure if any random could walk up with an ID and get in.

Our ticket order number did NOT match the tickets givento us. With the big cluster, it appears the Staples staff just handed everyone a random pair of tix. We had bad seats but the Stones still totall rocked. Seen them 7 times since 1981 and this was my favorite...so far!

Re: $85 seat experience?

Bought the $85 tix on the day they went on sale. I got to Staples around 6:30 p.m., and I estimate that the line was over 2000 people long, and by 7:00 p.m. it was even longer. Difficult to tell, but I would not be surprised if 3000 to 4000 seats were $85 tickets. The wait was probably around 90 minutes for me. I got my envelope and pulled out Section 322, and being familiar with Staples, I knew immediately that it was quite possibly the worse section in the entire arena. I went to check it out and sure enough, it was obstructed view, you could barely see 1/2 the main stage - I wouldn't have paid $85 for those seats if they had been offered on sale. I went back downstairs and asked to be let in the ticket sale line and was initially told that the show was sold out. I negotiated a bit, and they let me out to check and see what was available. I asked for the best seats available, and was offered either row 24 in Section 1 on the floor, or great seats on the side of the stage 18 rows up - $600 each. Not wanting to wait all this time to see an obstructed view of the stage, I closed my eyes and bought the $600 tix. It was a great show, of course, but if you are going with the $85 tix, understand that you will probably get upper levels, and you risk getting the worst seats in the house (like I did).

Wow, AEG keeps fcking it up then it seems, are they going to get anything right this year? I wonder if people reading this will just show up with an ID at the next shows and hope for the best, i.e. no checks going on!

So no one here got any floor tickets, let alone pit tickets? 105 best so far it seems?

I Got There Late Around 7:45 And Stood In A LON LONG line Such Was Moving Slow As Mollases When I Got There At First. Then, After About 40 Minutes, The Line Stayed Moving Very Fast. Initially, We Were Told, In Am Email From Aeg To Go To 2 Ticket Booth Windows. ThEy Only Had 2 Set Up Fort The 85 Tickets. Then, They Opened Up All 17 Or So Windows And The Lived Moved Fast. They Asked To See My Id And I Had My Confirm Printed On A Sheet Of Paper, The Lady At The Booth Took A Look At My Paper, Did Not Ask For My Credit Card, gave Me An Envelope, And Then HandedBack My Printed Out Confirm, And I Was Good To Go! I Was Late, Not In The Very Back Of The Long Line, But Definitely Neat The Back, And I Got Section 107, $450 Seats, And Awesome View. Anyway, not that it really matters but I haven't found an explanation for the meaning of PR, anyone knows what it stands for?

Sorry I am a bit tired....I did post it towards the top of the page, but anyway, PR is for premium seating, it's just above the 100's in the center sections (some not so center)
