What is the point announcing this now when all is allgedly sold out?
And it's still misleading. How can they call Tier 2 an area "with an excellent view of the main stage" ?

My reply :

Dear Mr Hallett,

I note your reply to me (which I also note is a standard letter that has been sent out to all of us on the various Fan Forums who have complained). I do not want a downgrade or a refund, I want what I paid for, which is the stage layout as described in the BST text for ticket options, i.e. the Bon Jovi arrangement which will be in place the night before the Rolling Stones show, with a diamond circle directly in front of the stage and a golden circle behind it, allowing Tier 3 access to the front of the stage at the sides.

I do not accept that I have to make a decision within 3 days either and you should be aware that I rang AEG Live Hospitality trhis afternoon and was told that the plan would be as described when purchasing the tickets. I also have an e-mail from Front Gate Tickets this afternoon in response to my concerns regarding the map you tweeted this morning, and I quote...

"That is a general idea of the layout to the festival but there will be fenced off sections of each tier. An updated map will be posted on the festival's website closer to the event. Tier 1 will be in front of the stage, with 2 behind it and 3 behind it."

1 in front, 2 behind, 3 behind that.....no amount of obfuscation is going to alter that.

How are you proposing to upgrade those with a Tier 2 ticket to Tier 1, should they decide to do so? What is the current capacity of Tier 1 or is that also something that you are proposing to alter as you go along? How can you offer upgrades to a sold-out area ?

Satisfied since 1976

What a jolly old day this has been, hmmmmmm..... I didn't even bother trying to get tickets this morning after missing out in the pre-sale. Probability is that out of a crowd of 65,000 there is gonna be a few 1000 people bombing out for various reasons and needing to offload tickets, so like all shows this is merely a temporary sell out.

I've had a few premium packages for Hyde Park shows in the past and it has worked like this, there is typically two grades of premium packages offered:

Premium Ticket:

Ticket to seated grandstand, which is normally stage right and actually quite far away.
Dedicated entrance with early access.
"Luxury" toilets.
Special hospitality area with higher calibre food offers and an element of complimentary food and drinks.

"Hot" Ticket:

Ticket to "Gold Circle" direcly in front of the stage.
Dedicated entrance with early access.
"Luxury" toilets.
Special hospitality area with higher calibre food offers.

Cheers,
SonicD

So the words "directly in front of the stage" has shifted from Tier 1 to Tier 3, which now only promises an "excellent view"!

so this basically means that those tier 1 and 2 tickets are more like vip packages, with separated place to stand. and GA will be queuing, running to get to the front row and standing there all day without leaving your place.
As i said, being in hyde park before, i have seen those vip places. those are more the side of the stage, still pretty close to the stage though, but not front row against the barrier.

I bet this fiasco would never have happened if Michael Coel had organised this. i was not too enamoured about he was the catalyst for the over-commercialisation of the Stones by exorbitant ticket prices in stadiums, but at least he ensure you got what you paid for. Runs for cover...

This bar thing that they charged an extra £100 for. "BARCLAYCARD UNWIND BACKSTAGE BAR "
Seams as if I have access to this bar located far away from the stage. But then when inside the bar. Do I still have to pay £10 for a rom drink or do I get it for free? I mean, I paid a £100 for getting in there, but do I get anything more that the access to it? In that case, this will probably be the most expensive bar I have ever visited during my whole life. Paid £100 for nothing did I ?

Following the Stones you expect to get bent over, financially-speaking.

What I didn't expect was to get bent over again afterwards.

Well, quite. Quoting from th einfamous email which i too have received:

You are correct that there will be a section in front of the stage that can be accessed by those with General Admission Tier 3 tickets. This will be the same as any other gig

He makes no mention of Tier 2 which is what I clearly stated I have bought. How is Tier 2 closer to the stage than general admisssion in that plan? It's further back!

I am in tears over this. I thought I had managed to secure a decent view with a little bit of comfort for a change. I have saved up for this for ages. Yesterday I was over the moon, now it's all ruined because of these lying cheating bastards.

I just scored £50.00 off Barclaycard for complaining I did not get e-mailed in advance about the Barclaycard Unwind pre-sale. They tried to call me four times earlier in the day to apologise and got through a fifth time this evening. I will put that towards a GA ticket.

This is a f@cking disgrace, shame on AEG and the Stones for letting this happen, unless this is fixed ASAP (it clearly won't) I am asking for a refund/downgrade (there is no way I'm paying £399 for T1 + paying bar) and/or finding out if there is a case to sue these f&ckers! Since they are offering a refund I'm not sure there is much of a case though (provided its a FULL refund)...any UK lawyers in here?

Has anyone confirmed with our friend Rob that it was a FULL refund, including fees and postage?

Interesting he has stopped offering an upgrade in replies now. I was only offered a downgrade or a refund. I definitely won't downgrade - I'm far too old to be standing in the same spot for over six hours waiting so it's Tier 2 or a refund. I've asked how many people will be in Tier 2 to help decide. If I can get a straight answer I'll pass it on.

That was my intention as well when getting the Tier 2. Oh well. It's either biting the bullet here or downgrading. Gotta admit you kinda feel let down. This also means even the Bon Jovi customers were "deceived" the same way.

time to write to the newspapers and Westminster Council Trading Standards...

luckily I hadn't yet bought from the secondary market - those prices will drop soon enough when this gets out

I've been in touch with the Guardian and the NME. There might be more traction with them than with the Standard, who are sponsoring the event.

It can't be that difficult to put up the two circles everyone assumed would be the set up. If they got those guys from Apollo 13 safely back to earth, AEG/BST/Stones should manage to put up some fences before July. It's the only solution to this mess.

Seems like they have tried to please everyone's needs and failed miserably.

Would have been better off making this a majority General Admission gig with perhaps 2 VIP areas close to the either side of the stage with grandstand seats for those who want to pay more for comfort & a good view.

Re: Confusion over Hyde Park "Seating Chart" - UPDATED

I've sent him this. Who's with me?

Dear Mr Hallett

Your reply is unsatisfactory. I clearly stated that I had purchased a Tier 2 ticket.

Let me remind you of the description supplied to prospective purchasers of Tier 2 tickets:

"Tier 2 - access to an area closer to the stage than general admission"

The map you enclosed clearly shows that the Tier 2 area is NOT closer to the stage than the general admission area. The general admission area extends further forward and right up to the stage itself, so the claim that Tier 2 is closer is patently false.

I neither want a refund, nor a downgrade. I want what I have paid for, which was clearly - but falsely - described by your company and by your agents. I reject your time limit of three days, particularly since it includes Saturday and Sunday as in the absence of satisfactory resolution by you I shall be joining others in taking legal action.

Look at the Ticketmaster UK charts for the Bon Jovi gig.

That still mentions the circles

(Also see the BST page for Bon Jovi and the descriptions there)

So: either 1) that's false too, or 2) the circles are going to be there for the Bon Jovi show then taken down for the next day?

If that's what the "plain vanilla" tier 1 and tier 2 offer,
what does the extra 100 GBP get for people who got the "Upside Downstage" variant or whatever it's called?

It's a mystery

Its in Bon Jovi's rider...he will not share his circles with the Stones...they'd better clear this mess up.
