Never seen it! I`m freaking. Many boring scenes but it`s so great in the end. Jagger doing exercises, great shots from the backline ( first clip from ca 1:40), entering the stage , filmed from Charlie`s position.
And then at 1:53 Keith turning and giving Charlie that look..WoooW

Thank you keithumb,

Tom

Detroit 81 is when it all started for me.
Man, the Silverdome was a shitty concert venue!

It was shot from a different perspective. It actually puts you on stage from a Stones point of view in the beginning. A great tour in 81.

I'm guessing this is the raw footage from ABC-TV's 20/20 piece about the 1981 tour. Rona Barrett interviewed Mick and the live footage was mainly from You Can't Always Get What You Want from Detroit. Looks like they had quite a lot of access.

This is the typical stuff that runs under a voiceover: "it takes a team of blah blah to set up the massive stage" "at 40 years old Jagger is still in top physical shape. He estimates he runs blah blah miles onstage every night and does a complete per-show routine of calisthenics and stretches to keep his body and voice in tune..."

Judging from the titles splattered across it, and the time code, someone got a preview copy - or captured it from an online archive - and it has leaked.

Fascinating stuff if you ask me. Too bad it compressed to hell now.
Thanks for sharing it.

Awesome videos! This was my first Stones concert and I have not missed a tour since. And this includes being part of the Super Bowl half-time show and the first Newark show this month. These videos bring back a lot of great memories. Thanks!!grinning smiley

Great show...
Notice the way Charly missed the beat at the start of LSTNT instead of Mick...

I watched them all yesterday. Really loved the backwards angel in it all. Who filmed this? It was not an insider because they aren't allowed into the inner sanctum; and you can hear people telling them, things like "you missed it; they all left" etc.
In one section there is a clip where Jagger (on stage) turns towards where the cameraman is, and looks very pissed off, shaking his head. But it seems like he is adressing someone else besides cameraman.
Clip 4 is much of the same timeline but all a different angle/camera.
Loved all this. I even watched the roadies doing all the hammering etc.

Interesting how Keith used the rosewood tele on Imagination and the Custom on Waiting on a friend.

In time for Hampton he'd decided it should be the other way around.

This is the tour that Mick began to see himself as more of a professional athlete than an artist.

There is something similar around, Giants Stadium 97,
done by an amateur with all access pass, too.

Yes, "The Roadie Tapes" of both nights. I still can't figure out what that stuff was used for. There's barely a single solid camera shot. Camera man is always moving. Possibly one of the cameras running for some of the big screen shots, but again, he doesn't stay on anything for very long at all.

what a nonsense! He does what all dancers do when preparing to perform on stage. Thanks to this dedication to his art, Mick can do what he does on stage now - at 69. I know that Richards is ever mocking all things Mick but in 2012 we can say for sure what's better to maintain the artistic form - unlimited cocktails with vodka or the ability to take care of yourself and your body.
