True, in the grand scheme of things ... but for a show that you know will be bootlegged on 'dime' or 'h-c', why pay for it? We all get the routine anyway, there will be a boxed set with live shows anyway for more money to shell out.
Many still don't see that it is ONLY about the money these days - if you don't see it then you're more blind helen keller. It is all they care about (not necessarily just Stones, but record companies, concert promoters, etc.), i.e. "how much can we get away with?" "how many suckers will buy a box set?" "how many suckers will buy the follow up dvd set?" "how many suckers can we get to spend $800 on tickets?" "will we make more money with a new cd, or with another pointless greatest hits box set?" "wait, we only get $13 for a new cd? well then let's make a pointless super deluxe edition and maybe we'll get a couple thousand to spend $99 on that same cd with a lame t-shirt and bumper sticker, and add a story/liner notes that tells them everything they know already."
... it goes on & on ... the only way for it to end is for the fans to make a stand, but as we can see, far too many are willing to take it as much as they are going to give it. So it is brilliant on their part, why not keep charging as long as others are willing to pay?

It's Economics 101. Everything from Spaghettios to Beluga Caviar is priced according to what people are willing to pay. If people stop paying those prices the prices will come down.
With the Pay Per View you can argue that cutting the price in half will result in twice as many people ordering it and therefore make sense but unfortunately they don't see it that way.

Well as far as the PPV goes, the $4.99 price they charge in Europe for HD Quality (what that means exactly remains to be seen) is quite reasonable, especially since you can view it for 30 days on your PC/iPad/iPhone/Android.
