Rehearsals from today (30th of october)
I wanna be your man
Not fade away
it's all over now (x2)
The last time (x2)
Before they make me run
Street Fighting man
Just my Imagination
Lady Jane
Angie (x2) *
Gimme Shelter (x2)*
Sway (x3) *
Heartbreaker (x2)*
Moonlight Mile (x2)*

The last songs just need Mick Taylor

Now THAT would be a perfect setlist. (If they wanna do Sway three times, that's ok with me, but they wouldn't have to; it would be nice with only one.)

They may play Gimme Shelter even slower than in 98, it'll take 10min to finish the song.

"The last songs just need Mick Taylor"

Moonlight Mile was great without him in 1999.

Yeah, that song doesn't really have his trademark sound and licks. He would add much more to Sway and a number of other '68-'74 songs, IMHO.

They mostly play the afternoon not the evening, I think.

Songs for Mick Taylors participation - Is Mick T. sitting at home rehearsing or will he join them in Paris?

Never have understood the issues with setlists and songs...
If the Stones are playing, it is a good time.... well except for Tumblin Dice and Miss You... for some reason I never liked those either "frequently played live" songs... but whining about JJF or Bitch or other rockers like thatc... I dont get it.... oh well, to each his/her own.

Nice to see another post '78 track come out of the woodworks, OOC, so now we have: SMU, YGMR and OOC for the last 30 years, plus D&G and OMS of course.

Yes, it's indeed a good time if the Stones are playing their songs. But there's no harm in mentioning that some of these warhorses have seen their better days. "Brown Sugar" "Start Me Up" "IORR" "Jumpin Jack Flash" "Satisfaction" and the ilk are some great songs but I think it's safe to say that they've really squeezed all that they can with these songs by this point!

Dunno, look what the Foo's and Mick managed to do with IORR on SNL, I was floored.

Yes but we're not watching the Foo Fighters perform the songs with Mick--it's the Stones! grinning smiley A song is only as good as you play it. Give the same 50 year old song to a whole new group--they'll add things that the original group can't do. In my opinion, they've all but beat these tunes to a pulp. They're alright but at this point, I find myself waiting for the songs to be over just to see what else they'll play.

I spent a few moments this afternoon near the studio. I just wanted to say that "wanna make love to you" was with the fast tempo.

From the Chuck interview thread, it was just after the Trabendo :

We’ve had about two weeks’ rehearsal so far and have another couple of weeks before we get to production rehearsals.

ok so it seems they may have one more week to go in Paris before they move to London in a big shed where the stage has been set up?
