170 different songs done over the 69 shows (so far) of the 2012 tour.

It would be interesting to compare this with the 2002-03 Rolling Stones tour, which was the tour with the greatest variation of songs for them (they played three different types of venues: stadiums, arenas and clubs). Does anyone here have a total figure of different songs played on that tour?

I saw him at Gilette Stadium and I am going to Hartford end of this month. Thankfully he stayed off politics and focused all on music it was a fantastic show. If I agree or disagree with Bruce or anyone else I pay my money to see listen to music and have a good time I can make up my mind without the help of Bruce Springsteen or any other celebrity. I want to hear the music not their opinions of which mean no more than yours or my own. It was nice to see him stay clear of the subject. I do chuckle when I listen to the Wrecking Ball cd and he sings about the poor and broken down people and after each show he speeds off in a limo to his private jet or fancy five star hotel I really don;t care just don;t pretend to be something that you really can't identify with anymore.

"It's a sad, funny ending when you find yourself pretending,
a rich man in a poor man's shirt."

Even Bruce sees the irony of his position.

He pretends every show and people keep paying up night after night to go to the church of Springsteen, many times per tour, to listen to him preach his working man bullshit. That schtick wore thin with me long ago... but if he can keep fooling them, and raking in the dough, why shouldnt he make a Million Dollars a night off of those people.

Springsteen is confirmed to headline Rock in Rio. Hopefully a return to Europe awaits next year (just not Hyde Park).

He lost me as well. One night he announced from stage "There's no reason to be sad", well I had plenty of reason.

Apparently his Rumsfeld, NJ estate was reclassified as an "equestrian farm" and as such Bruce, the Working Man's Hero, pays just 2% of the taxes his tony neighbors pay.

So many dates and I can not catch him this time. That is too bad. But there is a 2 week gap in the first half of June, so I hope some dates will still be added and that I would be able to see at least one show this year.

R - Are you serious about that 2% tax on hos equestrian farm? If that is true he is a bigger hypocrite than I thought he was. I love his music and he is a great performer but I've always thought he was a hypocrite. A man of the people my ass!!! BTW I think most of these rockers including our Stones are hypocrites.

Slew- I'm hoping that E-Street Band will not overlook S. Florida if a N.American is planned for conclusion to their extended tour. It's not political, I just want Miami included with current tour.

I agree with your assessment of hypocrism. Even the Boss says it clearly in the song "Badlands" I quote: "Poor men wanna be rich, rich men wanna be kings,
And a king aint satisfied till he rules everything."

Grat post Slew. Yep even rich folks oppose taxes but it is different going to sleep at night when there are no bills to pay.

It's a crazy form of preaching by Rock Stars that just doesn't ring true.

Farms usually pay less tax (they do where I live anyway). Nothing unusual there.

Would he not be a hypocrite if he paid more tax than he needs to? I guess a lot of us (including me) would be in the "hypocrite" category.

I went on Sunday night to Bruce's first Melb show which was brilliant - great songs, incredible band sounding a lot more soulful with more brass and percussion. The Stones could learn from Bruce and play less of the same standard songs in much the same order that they play towards the end of their shows. I love the Stones but if this is their swansong tour it would be great to hear a few rarities and they should never leave Gimme Shelter or Rocks Off out of their sets!

pool's in but the patio ain't dry

52 different songs played over the three nights. Only 10 songs played all three nights. The Stones would never do that.

I was at the front of the stage, in the pit, for Bruce's Vancouver show last November and I didn't have to pay anything extra to be there either. Seeing him again in Munich in May.

Seriously, it was the BEST show I have ever attended (with the possible exception of a 1988 Bruce show). I love the Stones, but they could learn a lot from Bruce in terms of pricing, setlists, and connecting with an audience.

I can't believe he played Better Days. My number 1 Bruce song if you can believe it, and I never thought he'd play it with the band again. Incredible. Just amazing. I'm in shock.
