I still wonder if one of these is going to be a newer club show. If so there are a few good shows with good setlists. Paradiso maybe?

I suppose if it's only downloads of audio then they could release just about anything - how long have they recorded every show ? mid 70s ?

...I'm all for them club shows; and as far as their 'first half' is concerned, (the entire) El Mocambo '77 goes without saying -
and for their 'second half' it should definitely be Paradiso '95.
Killer setlist, massive rock'n'roll on stage. Amsterdam went up in flames that day.

Do the stones have rights to the Hyde park show in 68? That's my guess.

As far as the San Jose 1999 disaster goes, why did they wait for the last two shows of the U.S. tour to start recording ?? By doing that, they ran the risk of ending up stuck with a document of a sub-par performance (or performances if they recorded both shows).

They should have made earlier recordings in 1999 of concerts such as Washington D.C. , Hartford , Chicago etc.. Richards was doing quite well on the No Security tour, especially in the middle of the tour.

I agree the early part of the NS tour went very well. Many of the song's raw energy had fizzled by the end of the tour. But they did what they usually do...wait till the end of a leg to record/film shows. They've done that for most of their DVDs. They think that by doing one or two months of shows will get the kinks out, put them more at ease and confident. I think they achieve this level just a few weeks into the tour...not months.

If there's any recording they should release from No Security..it's the Shepards Bush club show.

Exactly! I've been to THAT gig. Nice experience and setlist. But the playin . .
One of the weaker club-shows for shure.
Apart from Paradiso, there is better stuff existing from parts of Chicago 02, Philly and esp. Boston 2002.

The Anaheim stop on the No Security Tour was killer. Charlie was on.

Some one suggested Hyde Park '68 (of course they meant '69). God I hope they don't release that. I really seriously doubt that they would. The film has been available for years, sometimes officially. And besides the historical importance, it really wasn't good. Out of tune and extremely sloppy.

As for San Jose '99, keep in mind that the Stones had just released the Bridges to Babylon St. Louis show in '97 or '98, and then the No Security live album from that tour, which of course spawned the No Security tour. They probably felt another live release at that point was a bit much.

While I am sure there are tons of vaulted tapes of great shows, keep in mind this Brussels show was from a KBFH radio show. My guess is that they have accessed the rights to these shows over the years, especially since they _probably_ aren't owned by Wolfgang's Vault somewhere along the line.

So think San Diego 1998, New Orleans 1994 etc.

What does "owned" mean in that context? I often heard about Wolfgang's vault but never have been there or downloaded something. What is it exactly`, who's behind it and what stuff do they have access to?

I hope they don't just release widely available shows like Leeds 71, Paris 76,Hampton 81,Atlantic City 89,New Orleans 94 etc. etc.

The Brussels download was a good sign that they will look at close alternatives if possible .

I don't kmow if they were recording all shows in the 70s though...Didn't they perform CYHMK ,Wild Horses and I got the blues at early 71 shows?

Hampton, for example could be a recording of the previous show with the odd track from the well known show if there where any cock ups .

I'm sure that they have audio of every show from the last 30 years,so give us some suprises boys!

You are right, Hyde Park was one of the weakest shows the Stones ever did. No rehearsing, guitars out of tune, vocals out of tune, failed cues. The only positive thing was that the brilliance of MT was on the horizon ... but even MT could not turn the bad show around.

A complete leeds 71 would be worthwhile.
I agree..hopefully its something that is virtually unheard of.
We did get unheard of songs in the new brussels.
If only they made it a 2cd set with both shows...
But that is asking too much..

The Mix on Brussels is fantastic. I'm really looking forward to hearing a 75 show with the same treatment.

My bet is Detroit '75 - see my above post.

Not a particularly strong show, judging by the "Missing Jewels" box set.
Toronto '75 would be far more interesting.

Yeah that one sucked. A comp of the MSG residency would be far more interesting imo.

Hyde Park is a mediocre performance. If they're going to release anything from the era with Taylor, that should be bottom of the list from a musical perspective.
