Any updates when the next release will come out? After Christmas perhaps?

Go Dawgs!

I'm banking on it being Fort Worth 1978 for Round Two.

Absolutely not. Why would they? Nobody would buy it - it's allready out on CD and DVD. Worst guess yet!

There are other guesses which are much better;
Knebworth 1976, Toronto/SF 1975, Leeds 1971, Toronto 1977 etc

Re: Google Music to offer six unreleased Stones concerts

It's only available in a DVD/CD combo pack which limits consumer exposure. They chose not to release the show as a download in November (unlike the video footage which can be downloaded legally as a movie) and none of the revenue from the combo pack goes to UMG. Since they bothered to have Clearmountain mix it, I'm guessing they'll do something else with it. A standalone CD release is out of the question, but making it part of the Google Music and archives website store releases makes perfect sense from that perspective.

My argument against Knebworth '76, any '75 show, or the El Mocambo being next is that LOVE YOU LIVE will be seen as having covered the same territory already. We may get them, but probably not second in the release because they can't hype it as filling a gap in their catalog when the period is already represented. I would welcome Leeds' 71 being given an official release, but if they only have the BBC broadcast for source (even if its stereo), I suspect the relatively short running time and the fact that it's another Taylor show will hurt its chances of being the second release.

But thanks for calling my suggestion the Worst Guess Yet! I'll wear that badge with honor.

When news of the Ed Sullivan Shows DVD release was first leaked earlier in the year on this site, there was a rumor about a DVD/CD combo pack release. It didn't happen obviously, but I wonder if it is a possiblity for the download series. It would give them a chance to release Brian Jones-era material and the rights issues with ABKCO and the Sullivan rightsholders would have already been cleared.

While I would love to see the BBC Sessions given a release, I suspect that dealing with ABKCO and especially the BBC on this might make it unlikely for a download-only release. I could see a legitimate CD release for the BBC Sessions in the next year since it's been discussed for a long time now, but I'd think the aborted Sullivan CD might be the best possibility to cover the sixties era Stones in this series.

I heard rumours about Memphis 78.

I was considering putting a "smiley face" behind that sentence, but I really don't like those "smiley-faces". Please bear over with me.

The photo on their archive website shows the Detroit 1975 multitracks next to the Brussels multitrack tapes, so maybe that's an indication concerning what's about to follow as their next or at least a future download release.

I dislike emoticons and was hoping my "wearing the badge with honor" line would indicate I wasn't upset and found our discussion in good humor as intended. Don't worry, the missus is still sending you a Christmas card this year.

i hate emoticons too. can we have them banned or something? if you can't say what you mean with your words, you shouldn't be allowed to post.

You're not the only one with mixed emoticons.

Except that it was reported in Billboard that "Google Music will offer six never before released concerts by the Rolling Stones." Since they just released Ft. Worth I would think that rules it out.

Not a bad bit of reasoning. We'll see soon enough.

Should have thought of that. I was trying to find an appropriate smiley here.....but can't find anything suitable. But I came accross this stupid one:
yawning smiley
Now what does this face actually represent? Anybody knows? Looks like a guy eating a lemon.

Good observation. It makes sense for them to release a 1975 show at this point.

So the consensus is they're leaving clues to the next release on the website's home page? I like it. Very ABBEY ROAD of them.

Yes you can. If you download the Google Music Manager (it's free) it lets you download the music in your online library to your computer in MP3 form. I downloaded it and burned a backup copy, put the album in my iTunes, etc. By the way, if there are any other Pearl Jam fans you can get the Toronto concert from September for FREE.

I hope I have better luck with this than I did with Amazon Cloud Player. I recently purchased an album from another band on Amazon and downloaded their Cloud Player and download manager (also free). Despite what they claim, I cannot for the life of me get those songs to go from Amazon Cloud Player to my computer. Read every help article in existence and none of the instructions worked. I kind of miss the old days. Just announce you're releasing a new live album and I'll go buy the CD. At least I know how to upload one of those to my computer and get it onto my mp3 player, etc.
