I hope they did not leave for good, that rarities thread [www.iorr.org] is one of the best ever.

The impossible one is 'Get yer ya yas' on red decca label...there is a few of them out there somewhere...

Ya Ya's was pressed in Australia on red nonboxed Decca labels. Do you mean that there would be UK pressed mono Ya Ya's existing as well?

Thanks a lot Erik Snow. I knew it was from one of the iorr people but forgot. I love that site. Also, Stones Vikings Decca page has a wealth of information. Both excellent and highly reccomended for anyone interested in collecting the original Decca records. Thanks guys!!!

I think not...I have the white labeled boxed DECCA, I think that is a German pressing or something (autographed by Mick Taylor! - I hope!)

RAREST STONES VINYL of 'em all!

the picture sleeve is more rare than the vinyl..right?

Well, I have a couple of copies of the vinyl, but not the PS, so I think you are definitely correct...or I'm wealthier than I thought!

I've got those as well Eddie...the five by five comes up fairly regularly on Ebay UK, but is a good get in good condition.

Does anyone own the Beast of Burden vinyl 45, with actual picture sleeve?

Love to see a picture of that....I know it is an expensive piece, just wondering if ANYONE is lucky enough to have acquired that?

I had a french acetate from Hyde park. The record was about test sounding with songs from the Hyde Park concert. The record if I remember well was done in 1970. It was stolen during a moving. I have some other rare items but that one was the rarest.

Wow, very cool. Thanks for sharing Andreas.

Not doubting you at all...but just wondering how you're sure it's not a fake, as I know there are many counterfeits out there?

I've always wondered whether I'd ever buy it, 1. because of how much it would cost, and 2. even if I could find the money, how would I know for sure?

Wondering how you acquired it, and if there was any authentication? If so, how would you authenticate?

Thanks

... It's definitely an original cover, I've seen some fakes and could compare it (quality of paper - the cut at the edges - the colors and sharpness - is different if you look into details, but not via taken photos!), but most important is the fact that I got it from a absolutely reliable source, one of the fellow major collectors around the globe, years ago, when fakes were not circulating the market that much! I would not buy such expensive items via internet or ebay, only when I have it in my hands and can have an eye on - like at record fairs, which I visit too, or when together with other collectors to trade.

P.S. over the years you get the right feeling and detailed knowledge as a serious collector what are fakes and what are true ones (I collect for more than 30 years Stones and related stuff like records 7inch+12inch, acetates, posters, promo stuff etc. - some are shown in the other iorr thread "add photos of your rarities" here
Add photos of your rarities)

Thanks Andreas.

That's the thing...finding Beast of Burden is pretty impossible nowadays, unless you're looking on EBAY, as that is where most people are going to get the best price, because it will have the biggest audience.

I guess you just have to be very careful.

Beast of Burden and SFM are the only two US PS's I don't have and recognize that it is highly unlikely I'll ever get them.

Very cool you have the exile flexi WITH the NME...I haven't seen that before, although I do have a couple of copies of the flexi.

Just curious as well...what country is that BIG HITS album from? Is it Spain?

It resembles a spanish PS for Have You Seen Your Mother (or one of those mid-60s singles). Spain had some great PSs for 45s.

The Winning Uglies...big sister and little sister:

Bought the 12" when it originally came out, for $7, and the 45 a few years ago, for considerably more. Both pristine and never played.

Yes, flexi is very common, but to have the NME too is the challenge ;-)

Big Hits is from Germany, it's a special club edition which only could be obtained by mail-order, rare and not seen very often - I mean the original one, ... but be careful there are also fakes around of this record, due to it's rareness.

SFM circulates currently on the marked as copied sleeves, so be very very careful; I do not have it but a close friend of mine owns an original - I recommend not to buy that at ebay!!

btw. don't say, it's high unlikely to get them. Experience shows, that sometimes, by coincidence, it might be possible. Example: I bought record 1 and 3 from the ultra rare test pressing set "Essential Stones or History of the RS", according to UK Record collectors magazine only 6 sets are believed to exist. Nevertheless I bought it from a japanese collectors buddy years ago for a reasonable price - always had in mind, to find sometimes the missing record 2. I waited and then, years later, I really found, by coincidence, the missing record number 2 and I bought it for a very high price, because I must have had it ;-), so now I own the complete set. So, as a true collector you have to have some patience ... ;-))

The rest is classical record fair stuff.

Let's Spend The Night Together, 1982 UK only promo from the film of the same name:

I cheated and used an image previously gotten off of ebay. I have two copies of this.

I trolled around EBAY daily for quite awhile, about 3 years ago...that's when I bought 2 copies. But yeah, incredibly rare...not sure what they are actually worth. I paid about $25 for each.

I believe, the 3rd rarest behind Street Fighting Man & Beast of Burden.

I think it sells in the $300-500 range, although I've seen it go for $800 a few years ago on Ebay.

I was extremely 'lucky', one evening at 3 or 4 am, the baby woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep...I was on Ebay.co.uk and this came up as a 'Buy it Now' for 8.95 GBP, plus shipping.

I still can't believe it. I slept well the rest of the night!

Wow , what a great deal you got . That was like hitting a small progressive slot machine at the casino . One sold yesterday for around $600.00 US .

I was able to get this one last night for $30.00 , they usually go for about $100.00..

Japanese issue Wild Horses / Sway
