haven't looked through this thread much - but anyone else have the 1971 radio promo jagger interview with tom donahue lp on rolling stones records? ran into his son years ago who offered me money for it...

This is a geek thread, what-er-you doin' here?

All kidding aside, I've seen it in the $50-$100 range on EBAY.

I also have a couple of copies. If you have the accompanying letter with it, then I think it is worth quite a bit more.

i have a letter that says this is a cheap knock-off, sucker. that the one?

If you have that letter, I'd remove it from the album package, and discard before flogging it to Tom Donahue's son...who is his son anyway, Phil?

Since the 80ies there are counterfeits of this lp around. Don`t remember exactly how to seperate an original from a counterfeit. The print of the red tongue on the labels isn`t as accurate as on the originals I think. Anyone here who knows for sure?

Good to know...would have been better to know, mind you, BEFORE I bought two pristine copies.

Gotta be fake then...should have realized from the handwritten labels mind you.

treaclefingers ;

Not trying to " 7 up " as you so eloquently put it , just letting you know what else is available out there for those treasure seeking buffs like us .

My favorite of those I posted was the English promo on the purple and white Decca label . I love the design on that label . Also was the toughest to get , they don't come up very often .

I was only kidding...I was very impressed with the thoroughness of your collection.

I have that purple and white promo for a couple of singles as well, I think they were 70s DECCA promos only. I have one for SFM and one for SFTD.

I may have a couple of others but I'd have to check.

CHECKED....those are the only two I appear to have!

Missed these Boston...love these!

I have jukebox NOW!, in splendid condition...I think I may have GHS as well...can't quite remember it's been so long since I've looked through them.

I took the trouble to catalogue each piece, as I started getting so many it was hard to keep track of how many I had.

Hats off to those of you with such fine collections and sharing. I'll try to upload pix, I have Aftermath Mono, USA, red label... Most London records on wax. TSM 3D cover, very basic. American 45s too.

Yes please share...I find it onerous taking photos, editing them, posting to photobucket, then posting the link, or else I would have created many more posts.

I'll keep adding what I think are interesting ones though.

too funny.

This is what I was hoping this thread could turn into...that is a fabulous bit of trivia to share...I had never seen that.

Thanks Too Tough!

PS, that is a rare modern day 45...the Miss You/Too Tough 45, from 1984. I narrowly missed buying it a few years ago, it went for $150 or something.

Some more rarities to add to the list:

Exile on Main St. jukebox album with picture sleeve

Keith Richards Talk is Cheap promo box set from England...contains 4 7' single with picture sleeve housed in a black slipcase.Has Keith's signature on front in silver marker.

Also picked up Miss You/Too Tough single way back when for $5.00

But I have a question...Just got No Spare Parts single but don't want to open it.Does Jagger really sing Before They Make Me Run as list on the back cover?

Wasn't that Stonesrelics that was offering that ?

I must have been bidding against you .

I may have posted this one before

HTW misprint label

Shame about the " scarred " label .
I'll bet some smartass back in the '60's had one of those numbered stickers on there and made a feeble attempt to remove it . Impatient !!

Sorry forgot to add one item:

7' Mixed Emotions/Fancyman Blues from I think Austria. It comes in a black gatefold cloth bound sleeve. On the front is stamped Rolling Stones in red and yellow.Song titles on back stamped in red and yellow. On the inside right hand side is 3 polarid pictures of the Stones live in concert. On the back of the pictures it says...Unverkaufliches Muster For promotion only not for sale. Left hand side is the single for Mixed Emotions.

Has anyone ever seen one of these.

They would be the UK DECCA's then correct?

The only one I'm missing from the entire catalogue, is the MONO Let it Bleed, both boxed and unboxed DECCA.

Me need.
