SuperHeavy related and exciting

Damian and one of his bros (Ziggy I think) rehearsing for their Grammy
performance Sunday, a tribute to Bob Marley, which will also feature Sting and
this very very cool chick from Barbados (pictured) who has worshipped Bob since
she was five years old. Right up Keith's alley, but alas...

Also on the Grammys, the In Memoriam tribute gathers Elton John, Mumford & Sons,
Zac Brown, Alabama Shakes singer Brittany Howard and Mavis Staples for a salute to
the late Levon Helm, with T Bone Burnett on board as musical director.

Also, performing a song from best album contender El Camino, the Black Keys will
be joined by members of Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Dr. John, aka Mac
Rebennack, 72.

Who is the very very cool chick?

If you've read Superrevy's numerous posts about her, you'll find that this is no other than his musical hero #1, Rihanna.

Thanks DP - guess I've either missed or overlooked his posts about her.

I'm just taking a walk down memory lane here on ITUNES and I thought I'd give this a listen again.

Fantastic...this is truly a good album. I know this is still controversial but I'm glad MJ did this, it stands up. Hope they fit in another album, along with Keith's solo and a proper new Stones album.

It is controversial...

most of stones fans do not want to listen to jagger solo stuff but you all missing on good music and most of the stones songs are written by jagger

Re: SuperHeavy

I have listened to all his solo stuff, but this one just wasn't up to par, imo.

As a "thinking out of the box-experiment" it was a brave project, though.

This was a low point for Jagger, and lets hope there is never another pooperheavy release. As Archie Bunker said so well, its..."CRAPOLLA!"

So here-in lies the attitudinal problem I think. Perfectly ok to not like the Mick solo stuff of course, but in the same breath saying 'Go Keith Go' seems as though it's some sort of competition.

What has 'not liking' Mick's stuff have to do with cheering Keith on. Is it a race?

Would certainly have been better for Mick's songs to be recorded by The Stones...wouldn't have been worse than ABB, but did the world need that? I guess not. I for one can do without ABB pt 2.

Come on Dandelion, your on the fence here. If your going to join us in drinking kool aid all afternoon, you'll have to jump in with both feet.

Tell us, what's you're second favourite song, Energy? Beautiful People? Mahiya? Satyameva Jayathe?

Sing it brutha!

Yes, I Love a lot of the tunes on SUPER HEAVY, especially Miracle Worker. And I agree with you, kish_stoned, when you said that those not listening to MIck's solo material are missing out. Over the years, Mick has produced some very good, solid material and those who are short-sighted ( and jealous) would refer to it as " dog shit". Hey, it's their loss but don't say you're a real Stones fan if you don't at least give it a listen.

Definitely "Satyameva Jayathe". I think Mick's songs are the weaker ones on this album, and that in a way made me sad sad smiley

BTW, I prefer kicking (the authorities) with both feet grinning smiley

Mick was too late on the ball. If he wanted to do world music he should have done it in the 80s when the concept was hot (think Youssou N'Dour, Sting, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel...).
World music is, unfortunatelly, a pretty cold concept in 2013.

If you like your own Superheavy you can keep your Superheavy.
