keffbajaga you are too kind. All the information I have used is in the public domain so it is others who have done the hard work I merely synthesise. I will of course give full credit to my sources on the CD sleeve.

The Dark Stuff by Nick Kent is one of the 3 best books on rock'n'roll ever written (up there with Lester Bangs and Nik Cohn). His biog Apathy For The Devil is also well worth a read (much Stones content).

Just got to the end - a good read. Some very revisionist album reviews, many from B-list journalists BUT some rare pics (to me at lest) and best of all contemporaneous coverage from the likes of NME and Melody Maker. Most of us will have seen some of it but not many will have seen all of it. Worth the money.

nme.com offers a clarification of this story: "Veteran music journalist Nick Kent has reiterated that his role in the writing of Keith Richards' autobiography is minimal, after parts of his recent talk at the Hay Festival were taken out of context. Kent told NME that he was interviewed for the book once by the co-writer James Fox and is not working with the guitarist on the volume

Mick has just been interviewed on the highly-respected Radio 4 news programme Today. It was a good piece which had me on tenterhooks as the interviewer inched towards the name of Robert Franks on the road documentary. Would someone on Radio 4 actually say @#$%&? Sadly, no - the film was referred to as Rolling With The Stones. Still worth listening to the piece - find it here www.bbc.co.uk/

A Short Chat with Alex Chilton In July 2009 Big Star played a rare London gig, supporting Tindersticks at the ‘Serpentine Sessions’ three-night event held in Hyde Park. With only 55 minutes onstage the band were forced to play to their strengths with the result that the set-pacing problems exhibited at the August 2008 Shepherds Bush gig were absent and the band were in fine form. After the gig

There was a nice German-only single version of Let It Rock (Leeds version) c/w Jamming With Ry on the B-side and a cool pic sleeve. LIR sounds better than on the UK maxi-single because it gets a whole side to itself! The single was a fundraiser for Release. I will be playing my copy when I DJ at The Band On The Wall on December 12th (more info at www.bandonthewall.org/events/53)
