Yep, it opened every 78 show. I don't think it was as tight as the 71 version (especially the guitar break). plus Mick was into his snarling slurring punk vocal style in 78. But thats just my opinion-I'm sure theres some that prefer it better and their view is just as valid.

Fort Worth 1978 (the Detroit version from "Handsome Girls" was better, as Jagger didn't flub up the second verse):

The ultimate Let It Rock for me is the Leeds version.

I'd almost say the Leeds version is the ultimate live Stones performance even though it's not their song.1978 is great too. They should break the Berry embargo and bring it back next time

Nothing, although Keith pays homage on practically every song live anyway

let it rock was on the b side of a multi track single from UK Brown Suger/Bitch,Let It Rock. The Stones did Berry's arrangement of Route 66 on practically all the No security shows.

There was a nice German-only single version of Let It Rock (Leeds version) c/w Jamming With Ry on the B-side and a cool pic sleeve. LIR sounds better than on the UK maxi-single because it gets a whole side to itself! The single was a fundraiser for Release.

I will be playing my copy when I DJ at The Band On The Wall on December 12th

(more info at www.bandonthewall.org/events/53)

A fall-out over performance royalties, apparently.

...and the inside. It`s a simple foldout paper. It`s a special release by Kinney Music with a 1.- DM donation to the RELEASE organisation.

Ah, thanks for the pics, e-mud.
I used to have the sleve but lost it at some point.
couldn't even recall what it looked like.

>>LIR sounds better than on the UK maxi-single because it gets a whole side to itself!<<

just played mine but the sound was a bit ...er...underwhelming.
too much snap, crackle & pop.

hi open-g, played mine right away for the first time in many many years and it sounded great. The vinyl seems to be in nearly perfect condition and like you said, better than the uk-edition.
