The reason it is not considered in the same breath as YCAGWYW & Rambler is that the Stones never played it live for the world to hear (save for a gg or 2 in 71) until 31 years after its release. Many would say that if it was not good enough for them to play regularly, then it must not be top-flight like so many of us freaks KNOW it is! As for Let It Bleed, perhaps in my Stones' top

QuoteRoughJusticeOnYa Quotestonesstein I'll endorse this comment to the extent that it intends to reflect how the majority feels about the IORR Board's being indicative of the general tenor of the fanbase's opinion on the whole tour and songlist/setlist concept. ...Are you professionaly working in (or studying) politics and/or legal matters, dear sstein? I agree with those who conclude that this version, while fun and really enjoyable as a listen, is hardly the final version and not in any manner better. It's a working version, and do not let the "starved" feeling enable you to place it above the original version of 44 years ago.

I have always liked: Oh there's 20 000 grandmas wave their hankies in the air And burning up their pensions and shouting It's not fair There's a regiment of soldiers standing, looking on And the Queen is bravely shouting What the hell is going on? With a blood-curdling Tally-ho, she charged into the ranks And blessed all those grandmas who with their dying breaths screamed

I hear y'all say "nothing new," but to me, given how I have waited to hear Jack Flash and Live With Me from Leeds for 31 years - 2 all-time classic Stones' tracks performed at a peak of live abilities, I'd say we ARE getting something much better than some tracks that this band deemed unworthy of release 44 years ago. I mean, some of the crap on the Exile bonus disc

Quotetreaclefingers Quoteryanpow "The guitars, the groove, the horns" Yes, and ADTL for these reasons too. I've nothing but love for that song. I agree w/ Sir Treacle. All Down the Line is among the best rockers in the Stones' proverbial quiver.

If you see my thread of Greatest Stones Song Never Released as a Worldwide Single, this is it! There is, in my opinion, no finer example of EVERYTHING this band does and does so well, than this song. Sure, Rambler is amazing, Gimme Shelter incredible, Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Women, and Satisfaction timeless, but this one is approached only by Jumping Jack Flash and Live With Me as being close

QuoteRipThisBone Brown Sugar with E. Clapton doesn't come close to Brown Sugar with Mick Taylor. I have listened to both since 1978 after picking up the 12" of CS Blues c/w Brown Sugar w/ Clapton, and I have to say that the Clapton one is the real deal, from the relaxed party atmosphere to Clapton's stinging slide solo (!!!!) to Keith's backing vox (down to the ground....).

Steel Wheels should've been an E.P. of Mixed Emotions c/w Continental Drift, & Slipping Away. All else is the single weakest LP of the band's catalog.
