Imho : VL has been bootlegged to death. B2B is too "recent". ER would sound too close to a SG reissue (plus is there material worth releasing from that era left?) That would leave us with IORR or B&Blue. The problem with a potential IORR reissue is Jagger already used two 1974 strong outtakes "Living in the Heart of Love" and "Fast Talking, Slow Walking"

If I get things correctly : #1 you work for the band at a period of the band's history. #2 you have a few genuine artifacts to prove it. #3 you/your heirs manage to buy a guitar that looks like one played by Keith. #4 by association they claim that guitar has been owned and played by KR and you put it for sale. Nice scheme...

QuoteZotz Bob Dylan - 'On The Banks Of The Old Pontchartrain'- (Debut Performance) 2024 at almost 83 Bob's still thrilling people to the point of tears, in a way he's singing with more heart than ever. Yup, at the end of this US Spring he also gave one (last?) rendition of a song he's been in love with since 1986 "Across The Borderline". And yes it is

Quotekeefriffhards He's lacking in diversity. The fact that NIN mastermind Trent Reznor chose him to play on a few tracks and go on tour with him (in 2013?) invalidates your point.

Can I get this one? My mail is jeffrosen@sony.com I need it for an upcoming 50th anniversary release. If Sony can charge punters for material we get for free that's ideal.

Quoteskytrench Gotta disagree with that, Not Fade Away was an great opener for Voodoo Lounge, It was keith's idea and Mick complained it totally failed at pumping up the audience and putting it in the right mood. In 97 they opened shows with the very fast "Satisfaction" which says a lot. Quoteskytrench would they have used it for so many shows if it didn't work ? Lo

QuoteHound Dog QuoteMathijs On several Licks shows I noticed they had a habit of smoking big joints before or during the show. At Vredenburg Keith smoked a big joint on stage (considered quite childish in The Netherlands...), and 10 minutes later he was completely out of it, hardly being able to play guitar. At Olympia you could see Wood smoke a joint backstage, and he was just completely out of

QuoteDoxa kick ass, etc. Even the big boys with enormous egos, vision and self-confidence - Mick and Keith - are aware of that. - Doxa The "kick ass" factor was probably essential with MT, who apparently tended to procrastinate, so to speak. RE the Twins imho they had another asset which led to finished albums in due time : the fact that more often they were at war with each oth

Quotewoodyweaving The more I read about him, the more I develop the sense that aside from his heroin (and apparent alcohol/coke/weed use) Keith played up his image a bit but so did far more people around him than he himself. This established his mythos. Remember that on the 81 tour Keith acted as a drug counselor for Ronnie, as he forbade him to freebase coke. That did not work too well bu

Quotegotdablouse Keith rolling his own at 7:40 ;-) Check the vids of Ronnie with Bobby Womack then... much more reprehensible behaviour there. Which makes me think... apart from the heavy heroin years (76-77) it seems that Keith took much less illicit stuff than people around him.

If you want to "bang" buy an electric. If Angie or WH are your thing buy an acoustic. Learning to play a musical instrument is - unless you have a natural talent - a very slow humbling and frustrating process. Then one day you discover you can play easily licks you could not play a few months before. This is a magic moment that will give you intense satisfaction.

for keeping the blues idiom alive! The production sounds a tad bland to my ears but at least Slash does not hide behind a wall of distortion to play his solo so that is commendable.

Ford's Wiki : "Ford had a realization "light bulb" moment while the Crowes were on tour, opening for The Rolling Stones during the 1995 Voodoo Lounge Tour. "I've reached the top of the mountain. Wrong mountain, dude!". Ford became disillusioned with the rock star dream while watching Keith Richards and Ron Wood behave like 12-year-olds in Wood's hotel s

Tapes 56 and 58 show a nice quiet cozy afternoon at Ron's L.A. crib, with guest Bobby Womack. You may note that most of us mere mortals would end up in intensive care after a afternoon like that.

QuoteMathijs but to be able to play like they did on those tour they sure couldn't be totally wasted. Even though they dressed and acted up to it. Mathijs Imho, while Keith was certainly hurt and upset by Dean Martin’s disparaging comment in 1964 he learnt one thing from Dino : that you can build an act and a career on looking wasted/drunk. It looks cool, it does not damage your he

QuoteTheflyingDutchman I doubt that the average Stones fan or the Stones' guitarists themselves would notice the difference between completely drug fuelled or sober, rehearsed or under rehearsed; after 50 years of "stage experience". Thank god for that. the average punter probably not, but any fan can tell the difference between a beginning-of-tour perf - tentative and not

QuoteDoxa 'Songs first, songs first', say the bosses... - Doxa Said differently : 'hey we do not need a Jimmy Page clone in our band'. I am pretty sure Mick and Keith held in absolute contempt bands that played looong tracks with loooong guitar solos in them, like Zep or Pink Floyd. And even live MT was held on a leash : listen to 73 aud tapes : there are quite a

Quotemosthigh Only slightly Neil related, but Lukas Nelson & POTR had their truck full of gear stolen outside of a hotel in Seattle Monday night. Same thing happened with The Brian Jonestown Massacre in Portland, Oregon about 2 years ago Logical conclusion : do not defund the police or do not play in cities where Antifas rule?
