Artists in their 'late days' tend to minimalise their sound. Look at Cash, look at Solomon Burke. An intimate, warm sound with a basic band. Downplaying to get the opposite effect, if you get my drift. From the two first songs I derive they opted for a more orchestral, big sound.Nothing wrong with that. I would have preferred a smaller bang instead of a bigger bang looking at the phase

Brian’s estate is still active, under the guidance of Clive Berger from 1969 - 2005. From that year on the estate is handled by an Oxford accountant. The estate’s only income are air play royalties which amounts in an average year to around 15.000 pounds (Abkco royalties exempt). No Mathijs, Julian receives nothing. And you are also wrong about Brian’s remaining belongings.

QuoteRocky Dijon Quotepaulspendel The bass on the end coming in is clearly played with a plectrum, Wyman style. Paul, please don't take away the dreams of Macca saving the Stones just when all hope was lost. Especially when it's only their original bass player returning for his first original Stones number since 1991. Rocky, unwittingly you just came up with the most appropriate a

You can hear it’s Mick because he plays in Keith style, but not with 5 strings tuned to G. He plays the barré chords in normal tuning with adding a pinkie to the D string to get Keith’s sound. You can see him doing it on a snippet he put on instagram a couple of months ago playing a Fender Jaguar.

Hi Swiss, Sam wanted to see the last interview we did with Tom Keylock, three months before Tom died in 2009. I had to turn Sam down. The footage is still under wraps. Sam was right about Klein investigating Brian’s death but got the wrong end of the stick. And Mathijs falls into the same category as Geoffrey Giuliano: to be avoided at all costs.

Sam Cutler asked to meet me in 2022 regarding Brian’s death. I noticed he had teamed up with Geoffrey Giuliano who is to be avoided at all costs. I declined the invitation but quizzed him about his 2009 blog mentioning Klein’s 1969 investigation into Brian’s death. Sam could not deliver the goods. Subsequently I contacted Ronnie Schneider, Klein’s nephew. He confirmed Klein’s efforts to get to th

In my view the joint venture between several London drugs dealers and the Chelsea drugs squad is what really destroyed him.

Maybe the circumstances surrounding Brian’s death are left out because the talking heads in the doc very high up the r&r chain brought this to the table as a condition for their participation.

Unfortunately Brian hardly had any musical future left, I guess. Drugs Squad officer Norman Pilcher had a warrant ready for a drugs raid at Cotchford, to be executed August 1969. He was allowed to carry this out outside his London patch because the drugs came from London. That was the rule. This raid would have meant a long prison sentence, given the previous cases. That's what Scotland Yard

Let us never forget this: Spanish Tony grassed up Brian and informed the London Drugs Squad he supplied Brian. Based on this information They were ready to raid Cotchford in August 1969. The rule was that the London coppers could carry out a raid outside their patch if they could prove the drugs originated from London. If Brian had lived that August 1969 raid would have finished him. Bear that in

Regarding the Ready Teddy video: when Scotty takes over with his solo you witness the sheer joy of musicians not only playing for an audience but alsofor each other. Everyone in a band knows that magical feeling.

In Woolley’s original script it says “Mo and Jeff” watched the killing. Jeff was John Betsworth. He died in 1998. Mo was Maurice Tucker. He died in 2001.

QuoteLady Jayne I am rather surprised to read the comments about Mick trying to suppress this film or refusing to allow Stones songs to be used. I was involved in the PR for some early showings of the film at which Stephen Wooley spoke and my recollection is that he told us it was an artistic decision not to use any of the Jagger/Richards music of the period in order to underpin Jones decisive i

I could not establish Dylan paying for the casket. I doubt it. I was extremely interested in the Klein investigation Sam Cutler mentioned in 2009. I pushed him on the subject and he became evasive. Finally, last year, one of Klein’s former aides told me that investigation did happen but didn’t conclude at all Keylock was the main suspect. I can’t understand why Cutler introduced that narrative. Wait a minute. I also found that Jagger and Richards didn’t sack Brian at Cotchford but in a pub: the Hatch Inn in Coleman’s Hatch Hartfield. Brian had befriended a local lad and this chap accompanied Brian that day. Last year he granted me an interview. So Anna Wohlin’s account doesn’t add up. Speaking of that: last year her ghost writer confirmed to me a large chunk of the manuscript had to be

New research? Yes. I researched some new things. Like photos of Brian’s body at Queen Victoria hospital East Grinstead with marks on his face not accounted for. And I ascertained names of some of the celebrities who fled Cotchford after the incident. I also learned things from someone from the Klein camp.In slough London I found a builder from Cotchford. And from studying Hotchner’s archive I le

Spanish Tony has been discussed before on this forum. Quite a mysterious character. I researched Tony Sanchez was an alias. He was born as Antonio Dominguez and died in 2000 in Croydon in the UK at the age of 58.
