There is an interesting contrast between the private nature of Jagger's lyrics and his refusal to talk about anything private in other media.

It's not. It's about one of Jagger's many love affairs, God knows which.

To me it's the riffs that still defines them. That makes it worthwhile. The essence.Their ability to make instant hits seems to have vanished though over the years. Which is a shame because hits are important for any artist. Just some random thoughts... Which are yours?

In order to keep up momentum they will almost certainly tease another track between now and Oct 20 He is the number one Swedish stones fan since 1965. I don't know how much of an insider he is these days though (he's about the same age as the band).

Yep, Eddie. The lyrics is also a non contest - Ghost Town by margin. A tip to Sir Michael: if you have a harem of women and children with four of them some of them is going to be angry with you at any given time. No need to write songs about it. Especially for a chap who wants to protect his private life.

QuoteIrix 'Angry' lyrics also on . Is it about Luciana Gimenez Morad ( Jagger's Brazilian lover and mother to one of his children)? The Brazil mentioning seems to incline that. Jagger would never answer that question though. Meaningsless lyrics of course for everyone except himself. And why the creole language (why you angry with me...)?

Whether the video is tacky or not is of little importance - it's just a marketing tool, soon to be forgotten. The main thing is the song and the album of course. They actually play it on mainstream radio now. My initial take on it remains: The riffs and choruses are great; Jagger's barking singing style annoys me but overall a good effort. It may stream in billions I still wouldn'

The video? I don't think Sir Michael puts that much into it nowadays. It's just a marketing tool. He just picks the producer of it...and okays the final result. The retrospective parts with billboards is clever work I think. The girl and the red Mercedes 70s SL cabriolet are standard, somewhat worn, attributes I guess.

Okay, gave it a spin. Firstly what I don't like: It takes 45 seconds before the song grows on you - that is not a good recipe for a first single if you want it to have hit potential. I don't like Jagger's aggressive singing style in the beginning of the song either. Secondly, what I like: I like the guitars, the riffs and how the song grows on you after a weak start. Mark? 3.5 out

Imagine a new Stones album after all this time and when the founders are in their eighties. I must admit my first feeling is that of melancholy though. That more than anything else.

I wonder who is going to take over the brand when the band is gone? I'm sure they will continue to release vault recordings, re-releases and best of albums (and other stuff) for a long time after that. But I'm sure Sir Michael already has planned the handover. The brand is a virtual gold mine.

I guess Leo was invited to Sir Michael's birthday and now has returned the favor. Celebrities hanging out with other celebrities and the glamour attributed to it with fashion models, yachts and everything else is not a novelty. ...I'll change my mind. There is one novelty about it: The fact that an 80 year old celebrity is still hanging on to it.

I discovered The Band through Robbie's solo albums in the eighties (which were really good although Robbie's voice is not the strongest of voices). I learned that he was partially of indian descent also. He was a decent actor too and a very good story teller. I think he had a good life - may he rest in peace.

The Eddie Cochran cover for a starter was a nice surprise. Otherwise - I think the drums and the bass drenches every song. Very monotonous. I'm not a fan of the ballads either. The guitar work between Keith and Waddy is sometimes very good. Waddy is a very accomplished guitarist. Keith sometimes loses it when his solos goes on for to long.
