Quotepaulywaul QuoteDaveG "Out of Time" by Chris Farlowe was, in my opinion, a killer version and was far superior to the Stones' version. I'd have to go with that too, the Stones' version is a bit too .... hmm how to describe .... 'pop' I guess, for my liking at any rate. huh? the farlowe version is far more poppy than the Stones version.

QuoteNICOS Alway's loved this version of Soundgarden Play it loud................................. Not fair to compare this one. Chris Cornell is such an amazing singer & Kim Thaiyl (sp?) is one of the best rock guitarists of all time! As much as I love the Stones version, I think this one wins!

Quotedrewmaster QuoteLeonidPI didn't list Back To Zero since everyone agrees that one sucks. Whoa, wait just a gosh-darn moment before you go making sweeping generalizations about what "everyone" agrees on! There are those among us -- myself included -- who dig the righteous funk that is BTZ! Drew Seriously? I have nothing against funky numbers if they're good. I love s

QuoteDandelionPowderman .... But as a Stones fan, do you really think Keith's licks on this track stinks? ... not addressed to me, but i'll answer anyway. yes, i do think it stinks. i see posts about the great guitar solo & the back & forth weaving, but to me it sounds so lame and uninspired & goes nowhere. compare it to a song like Respectable and you'll see far sup

QuoteGazza An utter abortion from beginning to end. couldn't agree more. i can never understand all the love from these tracks, all which suck: - Hold Back - Fight - Had It With You - Winning Ugly - Dirty Work All are so bad. I didn't list Back To Zero since everyone agrees that one sucks.

QuoteStonesTod QuoteTitle5Take1 I'm reminded of when I first heard the album title "TATTOO YOU" I tried to imagine what the song "Tattoo You" sounded like. And I even made up song phrases using the words tattoo you, "Oh, maybe the song sounds like this...or maybe it's a fast song." And I'd be singing "tattoo you" around the house with some ad

Quoteironbelly LeonidP A year or two ago a user profstoned uploaded on demonoid Between The Buttons (UK Mono Version) vinyl rip. Yesterday's Papers clocked there for 2.17 (or something like that) as far as I remember. thanks ironbelly ... but it's possible, if ripped from an lp, that the uploader did not have the turntable calibrated perfectly and that could account for different tim

Quotefranzk I know that Yesterday's Papers on American BTB album is faded earlier than on UK version (2:03 vs. 2:20). You sure about this? I have both US & UK cds and they are both approx 2:05 in length. Do you mean on the UK vinyl it is longer?

Quote71Tele Lyrics, schmyrics. I just think Too Much Blood is an awful song. Awful though it certainly is, amazingly they have done worse - Back To Zero.

Quotelsbz ...There are other ones as well, like She's A Rainbow and Gimmie Shelter, that seem to be popular here, but that I don't find particularly good. yet you consider Rain Fall Down as one of their best tracks? ... just wow, how did you ever end up on this board? and i suppose sex drive is better than sympathy for the devil?

i love this band, The Blakes: they have a heavy kinks influence.

Quotelsbz In my perception, it is foremost the performance on record that is a little off. You can't have that with low-energy lyrics. The concept in itself is dubious; not impossible but difficult to get right... seems like you're going a wee bit overboard w/ the analyzing rather than just enjoying a good song for what it is (in my perception)

Quote71Tele Quoteproudmary QuoteStonesTod Quote71Tele Life is too short to listen to mediocre music. well-said; although i might add that mediocrity is in the ear of the beholder - i don't claim my tastes are better than anyone else's. I agree. I like ABB, you don't. It doesn't mean your taste is worse than mine. But I prefer Sticky Fingers and Exile - I guess that

Quoteproudmary I like ABB, you don't. It doesn't mean your taste is worse than mine... Still, I think Rain Fall Down is one of Stones' best songs ... ok, but that certainly means that your taste is worse than mine - no reasonable Stones fan could possibly fit Rain Fall Down in their top 200 Stones' tracks.

Quotelsbz QuoteLeonidP Same goes to those that think shite like Following the River and/or Streets Of Love are comparable ballads to tracks like No Expectations or Wild Horses. How about Rain Fall Down and Laugh, I Nearly Died?! I think they're about as good as, if not better than, Wild Horses. yeah, you're one of the ones that I'm talking about.

Please, how is this still going on? The more I think about it the more I am embarrassed that I even replied to such a thread. Once you try to compare any post-70s album to Exile, that is the moment I know you aren't worthy enough of a Stones fan to have any type of discussion with. Same goes to those that think shite like Following the River and/or Streets Of Love are comparable ballads t

yes, amazon does not directly sell bootlegs, it's an amazon user that is selling it (almost like ebay). amazon gets a fee, and i am also guessing if someone wanted to be a prick, they could report the dude that's selling a bootleg.
