I've got a Fender Hot Rod De Ville with the 2*12 speakers. I really like the clean channel and the reverb. As mentioned before, I would also suggest to use a stomp box instead of the amp's second channel. Try the Ibanez TS 808. Works perfectly for me with this amp. Depends on where the Stones are playing. I've done both. But I like heading to the concert town at least one day before the concert. At the Licks tour I travelled to Paris for a few days. The town had a real cool Stones vibe. Fans with Stones shirts all around town. Stones music in almost every bar.

I can't say something about the D-41 or the D-42, as I never played on one of these. But I love Martin guitars in general. I am playing a D-28 most of the time. Sounds just fabulous and is smooth to play. For me as a lefthanded player, it's also great to get guitars at the same price, as the righthanded models. Not a lot of companies are doing this. Would I rather get a guitar one
