People forget things in the haze of time or get them mixed up, or certain questions and the context in which they are asked may bring back a memory they had previously forgot about. Can you remember every specific day from 10 - 20 - 30 years ago? This for stoned in dc

Here's a quote attributed to Jimmy Miller, it's from the inside of a bootleg so take what you wish from it... "We'd be doing let's say, A blues thing. He'd walk in with a sitar, which was totally irrelevant to what we were doing and want to play it. I used to try to accomodate him. I would isolate him, put him in a booth and not record him onto any track that we

The slide on Jigsaw Puzzle is anything but rigid and there is variation to what is being played. Keith has said he played the guitars on the track in a 1989 Radio interview/documentary about Beggars Banquet, there's no real reason to doubt that. Something that may back up Brain playing is wether or not the outtakes feature slide, there's a whole CD of them recording the song, do

I think Michael Cooper is one of the other people around the mic, Marianne's wearing a hat... and at one point Brian kinda gently moves his hand towards her ass but goes to her waste hah.

Nah Nicky Hopkins on piano and organ for JJF. The synth like tones heard on Satanic Majesties is an oscillator which is basically an electronic device that produces a sine wave that can be altered via the pitch wheel. It would look something like this.

I think things REALLY changed following his May 1968 bust. I also think too much is made of Anita leaving him, obviously that screwed up the band dynamics, but really, as far as I can see, it's the 3 or 4 busts he endured during 1967 - 1968 that did the most damage... oh, and the drink and drugs of course!

Here's various songs that feature the MKII Mellotron mandolin sound... As an aside to Beggars, I think it's likely that he plays the part at the end of Jumpin' Jack Flash on a mellotron using the accordian setting, I dont hear him on guitar really! He also plays soprano saxophone on Child of the Moon.

This is what Brian is most likely to have played on Beggars Banquet: Sympathy for the Devil - Near inaudible acoustic guitar and backing vocals... this can all be seen in the One Plus One footage. It is likely however that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Jimmy Miller re-did the "whoo whoo" backing vocals during the mixing sessions at Sunset Sound mid 1968. No Expectations

It's a marimba and yes it's Brian. You can hear him play vibes rather well on Yesterdays Papers from Between the Buttons. It's also him playing the slide on Dontcha Bother Me(very easy part to play btw), but I'm not so sure about the harmonica.

I love Brian's contributions to the music, the image and concept of the stones, but there is a lot of truth to what Mathijs says regarding the execution of his parts. It's interesting that one of his best contributions, the recorder on Ruby Tuesday, happens to be one of his most shakey released performances. Listen to the pre vocal version and you'll hear what I mean. His
