Mick wrote the whole song, Keith only plays on it "like a session player".

If you have any of the old cd's they are all in a strange inbetween E/Eb because they screwed up when they mastered it. I dont know if the original vinyl release is the same. The recent SACD remaster has everything at correct pitch. On No Expectations Keith plays the A and E verse chords down at the 9th - 12th frets, but he doesn't always play the high 'ringing' E note.

Brian and fame was not a good combination! Anyway, fate decided that it was time for Brian to go so it's an unaswerable question.

Thanks for putting this up. I downloaded it last night, but when I looked this morning there wasn't anything in the file. How should I extract the zipped files? EDIT: Got it! "Thank you kindly"

The mellotron-mandolin could actually have been played by Nicky Hopkins. An instrument he has played with other bands, The Kinks, The Creation and possibly also on some of Their Stanaic Majesties. Theres a good interview with Keith talking about Beggars Banquet on the buy/trade forum where he mentions that nicky "came up with the fiddle effect".

Where has it been confirmed that it is Brian playing sitar. In Eddie Kramer's Setting the Record Straight he only mentions Dave Mason playing with Mitchell and Hendrix. In saying that, it does sound like Brian's sitar playing from the 'A Degree of Murder' soundtrack.
