Love it live, especially after VL. Love it on No Security. Quotewith sssoul In concert, that moment when Keith pauses before resuming the riff is quite cool. He used to vary the length of the pause, which was great drama and fun too, but then people started misinterpreting it as brain damage Yeah, that was typical for the 2007 shows. Maybe it was awkward because he was confusing other

Quotejambay Why stop at cell phones? Dave Chappelle and Alicia should also come up with a bag for all of the other things and people that distract at concerts, most of which are far more distracting than people recording. Before bagging cameras and phones they need to bag up al the people who YELLsing badly to every song. And how about the people who SCREAMtalk to each other the whole s

I was there too. I agree his voice isn't as strong as it used to be, or compared to Mick Jagger. But acceptable! His show runs a bit less smoothly and polished than the Stones'. He just walks on with his band without music, whereas the Stones enter stage full blast. At the beginning he seemed a bit uncertain when communicating with the audience. After the last encore he took a bow b

QuoteBig Al It’s utterly ludicrous. Furthermore, so is the ‘knighting’ of any living person. Historically though, dead knights were pretty useless. You might be confusing knights with saints.

Quotecorriecas On the other hand, Stones solo members could play some Stones songs, and THAT would be Nice. Jeroen You're joking right? Keith, Mick, Ronnie, Mick T and Bill have all done Stones songs on their solo gigs.

QuoteGlimmerGirl24 Raùl Castro has embraced the current and previous popes hoping it will help end the embargo. A few years ago he made Good Friday a public holiday. Around 60% of Cubans are Catholic, but a much smaller percentage attend mass weekly. As long as the concert is held after 3pm, there shouldn't be an issue with the concert on the 25th, as long as it's not at the baseb

History Channel actually doing a documentary on history? Fantastic news! Usually it's all about extreme truckdrivers, people chopping wood or pawnshop owners.

I generally avoid pubs that only serve Oranjeboom, Dommelsch, Bavaria or Grolsch lagers. For lager, try the Limburgian ones: Brand, Gulpener, Hertog Jan or Alfa. Some pubs only serve Jupiler, which is good but belgian. Remarkably though, you probably won't get any Stella. The La Trappe range imo is inferior to the Belgian trappists or blonde/double/tripel specials, although it's wids

The version done at that school for the press conference of the Bigger Bang tour had Ronnie doing the solo, and that one was quite nice. Of course, in a big setting, the sax is the way to go.

I would have loved a documentary about modern day Stones as well. But let's see it from the Mick's point of view: The Stones post-1982 is: - the Mick-Keith feud, - the solo efforts resulting from it, - Charlie's addiction, - the set-up of a professional tour business from SW on, - Bill Wyman leaving, - keeping the business running, - a very occasional musical effort

Anyone else thinks the tour will be called '15 on Fire'? Fifty and Counting Fourteen on Fire (approx. 14 shows/leg) Fifteen on Fire (15 shows North America). In 2016 of course there will be no tour, since the F-wordplay can not be continued.

I think that back in 2001 or so, when you googled (pardon: infoseeked of altavista-ed) 'rolling stones fanclub', you'd come across iorr, and that informal community that an internet forum is was the most resembling thing to a fanclub you could have, since an official one did not exist (and still doesn't really). Of course real fanclubs had no future anyway. I started posti

Saint Gerlach was a hermit who lived in the 12th century. A reliquary containing the skull of Gerlach is situated in the Roman Catholic parish church of Houthem in the Netherlands. Serveral local organisations and buildings are named after Gerlach, such as the luxurious hotel 'Chateau St Gerlach', a former monastery which holds the parish church. The Rolling Stones stayed there last Jun

The era of the big stadium tours seems to be definitely over! This is arenas too. During the 90s and 00s, the Stones, U2 and other big acts took their mammoth Mark Fisher stages across the globe. Just seeing these stages for me was worth going and paying for. I would go see U2 in a stadium, but probably not in an arena. Now times have apparantly changed (or the acts did some recalculating)
