I'll take it from the lack of response that there are no known Rolling Stones alternate takes/versions in circulation.... thats too bad!

During the movie Crossfire HUrricane, they played an alternative version of Moonlight Mile as part of the soundtrack... Are there any alternative takes of MM circulating out there? Paul

Umm...I remember what a pain in the @ss it was to get to Oshawa on a Sunday...Doug and I had two sets of tickets, two for the afternoon show and two for the evening...we sold the evening ones for $50 a piece. I recall John Belushi coming out to introduce the band. I remember the New Barbarians were pretty good, but couldn't wait for the Stones to come out...the NBs finished their set a

Spring, 1979, grade 12...heard that tickets were going on sale at a local Dominion Store (grocery) that had the BASS ticket sales (best available seating system). My friend Doug and I gathered up a couple of lawn chairs and some sleeping bags. Got there on a Saturday night for Monday morning sales. Things were cool until early Monday morning when people started to push and crashed the que. My

Anyone have a good mp3 copy of the audio track for the It's Only Rock 'n Roll video. I ripped the audio from the YouTube video but it lacks some depth...I am surprised that there aren't more bootlegs of the track in it's pre-album release state... I am not sure that I like it more than the album release but it's a nice alternative to the final studio version. As an

Anyone know of any good tab for this song? Its in the key of G, I suspect Keith's in Open G, with his guitar going through a Leslie speaker but anyone have more details/ideas that they can share?

I find this difficult to say but I think Glen Fry and Don Henley were a lot more repsectful to their musical legacy and to their old band mates (who quit) than Mick and Keith have been to Mick T and Bill. Bernie Leadon does a partial set with them and if Randy Mesiner was well, I am certain he would have joined them onstage as well... That's a pretty sad statement...

In the picture right above my post, Keith didn't shave, I don't think that qualifies...I thought I made that point somewhat clear....

Has Keith ever had facial hair? Moustache, beard, goatee?? (not just forgetting to shave for a few days or appearing in movies) I was always surprised that Keith would normally be shaved for interviews that he did (esp. in the 1970s)

Yes, I would have thought it was a huge coincidence to have the Martin holes spaced exactly the same as a Fender... Here is another version but there are the three vertical grooves on the back, so they are similar but different from the Martin ones...

So it appears that the tuners are Grovers, that were used on Martin 12 strings in the late 60s, early 70s.... Still seems odd though....

Well it's capoed on the 4th fret, so if we assume its in Open G, that makes it the key of B....which makes Happy or Tumbling Dice two good choices....

What's up with Keith's Telecaster here? This is a photo from Jim Marshall's book. I don't think I have seen tuners like this, esp. on a Tele.

Sueing the Stones... Well this falls under contract law, so unless someone here has a copy of the contract or has seen it, any discussion is probably pointless. However, as mentioned, most studio musicians are paid a flat fee for their recording performance, and that's it....no residuals, no royalties...but it depends upon what's in the specifc contract.... As an ex Air Force pilot (and current airline pilot) who flew the military equivalent of the L188 Electra, I can tell you that the 1972 tour plane was a L188 Electra...it was about 15-18 years old at that time... The 1973 tour Constellation was an old old piston engine powered bucket-of-bolts... I am frankly surprised that they used the constellation....must have been Jagger's cheapnes

Keith says in a Guitar World Richards also speaks fondly of his former Stones co-guitarist Mick Taylor, who joined in 1969 as a replacement for founding member Brian Jones. But Richards denies murmurings that Taylor, who left the band in late 1974, contributed overdubs to the reissue package. “That’s a rumor, babe,” he says. “If he was on there, I would know. We’ve had no contact with Mick fo

I am trying to figure out the instrument on this track, whether it's a keyboard or a guitar....at times I am certain it's a guitar and then other times I figure it's a keyboard... If it's a guitar, what are/is the effect on the guitar that they are using? Specifically the instrument that comes in at the break 0:50 seconds...and also at 1:51-2:01 and continues during the
