QuoteDandelionPowderman It's a bloody shame Rod wasn't there in 2010, although Mick did a good job: That is HIS band (Ronnies). Mick did a good job but the real partner in that crime is Roderick. And for all Ronnie lovers in the Stones camp, that is the main reason why Ronnie will never become a real Stone for me, even after a 100 years....he is a "Face" and belongs to S

QuoteMarkdog The lack of musical collaboration between Ronnie and Keith is a huge missed opportunity IMO. Oh we'll..... I can't tell how glad I am to not have Woody on a Keith tune....

QuoteMore Hot Rocks QuoteLieB Thanks for the transcriptions! Especially the story about Bridges was great. Funny how Don Was didn't wanna tell Mick he was playing the wrong notes -- and how Keith didn't wanna play on Mick's song (which is kinda sad too). And he didn't play on Saint Of me also. So what happened here keith? Stomping your feet again. Why also?...he as a matt

Quotematxil Dirty Work is a terrible album. It is actually the first album since Her Satanic that contains songs that are genuinely embarrassing ("Don't Hold Back" and "Back To Zero" ). I don't know what they were thinking when they made those. Probably they were not thinking at all. However, even on their worst albums they often manage to have a few good songs: &quo

Quotetreaclefingers Interesting. So it sounds as though they had the intent on doing a double album for some time, but issues with Klein caused them to delay. Had there not been those issues, maybe there would be no Let it Bleed in 1969, but rather the double Sticky Fingers (that would have been on hell of an album). The greatest rock album of all time? Which is and always has been as a

QuoteMore Hot Rocks QuoteHis Majesty Just a load of guitar fills that wouldn't have received much if any focus had Taylor's involvement not been mentioned. Totally agree. It's just a throw way tune. That should of never been brought back. Just a load of non descript, meaningless bullshit comments!

QuoteMrMonte well, my views on the album are well known (and I'm not shy about promoting readership): As for the song, I consider it the true masterpiece of the album. Like it or not, it's cool they took the risk of recording it without a bass. It's stripped down, genuine, and short and on message. No BS. VERY underappreciated song. MM You are right. The lack of the al

QuoteIrelandCalling4 I had just put on ABB, seconds later opened IORR and this thread! I loved the album on release, and still do. It's overlong, and has fillers like NeoCon, Infamy and one or two more but has quite a lot of outstanding songs. Any album with bloody good songs like 'Laugh I Nearly Died', the wonderful 'Rain Fall Down', 'Let me Down Slow',

Well Rod. you dare to even been mentioned in the same league as Macca or Mick.....I mean on top of that have you ever listened to your latest music efforts? Awful outputs the new album as well as the American Songbooks.

Quotepaulywaul QuoteSpodlumt Pathetic. When Marriott died they did too. Idiots. With all due respect, when Lane and Marriott died, it doesn't necessarily mean that the music forever has to have died with them. So if they were survived by fellow band members, let the music live on through them ffs why don't you ? I'd go see them. F**k the , the possibilities of that died when

The album is ok, nothing special about it. It stands out in times where nothing spectacular is released anymore......and its better than expected from that line up...:-)...and it tops the charts beacause the buyers are also over 60.

QuoteGasLightStreet Tremendous rendition of the song in front of Led Zeppelin, not just Plant. I was speechless when I watched it. Outstanding and dedicated performance. Just too much pathos. Quotestonehearted I think it's highly likely that The Stones will record a new album, because, in the UK at least, a new Stones album will top the charts. In recent months both Rod Stewart and, currently, Black Sabbath have released new albums that have gone straight to #1--in the case of these artists, it is the first number 1 album they have had in 40 years. In 2012, Paul McCartney enjo
