QuoteSwayed1967 Quotebitusa2012 This, and Happy, ARE Keith Richards' "LIFE" in song Fantabulous observation. Although a fellow poster made basically the same one about 30 minutes ago. Very astute poster ;-) .... BUT I linked Happy to it!

The beginning of my journey. Route 66 was the first Stones track I EVER heard (though not a live version). This, somehow, was my first Stones LP. I remember unwrapping it to this day. I remember my long gone Dad saying "who's the blonde girl at the bottom?". Never mind the inconsistency of the album - to me, it's the promise of what was to come.

ER their best "recent" 45? Nahhhhhh......Love is Strong is SO much better. ER is pseudo-disco nonsense. Pleasant, but imminently forgettable.

First time I played it was with a friend. He liked Led Zeppelin. His comments "where are their loud songs?" Never liked it much as a record myself, not because it wasn't loud. It tried to be, and I do LOVE the title track. Dance Little Sister....too much ssssssss all the time Dancccce Little SSSSissster, Dancce little SSSissster... too much ssssssss. Short and Curlies, L

QuoteHMS I hate it. They sold their souls for commercial success beyond their fanbase. They even attached strings to make it even more schmaltzy. They did it only for the money. Many fans must have been very upset back then, I guess. Sorry, don't agree. It's simply a ballad. Lady Jane, Play With Fire, As Tears go By...all great Stones ballads. Many fans LOVED these earlier Stones

Both Jagger/Richards and Springsteen are too low on this list. 2 and 3 respectively, behind Dylan. Lennon 4. McCartney should not be on the list. Lennon/McCartney, together, maybe in top 20. Individually, McCartney...nup.

An odd winner. Tried something different, with a backwards glance, and it paid off big time. Atmospheric, moody and quite wondrous. Did not fit on Steel Wheels at all. I would love to have more of this type of breakout song. Not an album full of them, but, more.

Its a shocking ALBUM with a couple of nice tracks and many crap tracks. And the production? Don't start me on that. It's thin and tinny, bar Rainbow and 2000 which at least DO sound produced. The rest, thrown into a blender and out popped rubbish that runs off a spoon instead of being eaten with a fork and knife. No meat to it...

There is no such thing! Seriously, I cannot see what anyone sees/hears in this track. A monotonous dirge. To each their own, but to me this is one of The Stones worst ever releases!

What an absolutely stupid thing to ask. You have a favorite food... Is that the only food you eat? You have a favorite drink... Is that the only thing you drink? You have a favorite color... Wear any other color? You have a favorite outfit... Wear anything else? Of course you bloody do. The Stones are your favorite band... Listen to anything else? Of course you do. Do you not listen to the ra

Saw U2 at MSG last night. GREAT show, visually. The sound was, in a word, atrocious. Muddy, clipped, shrill. I recognised all the songs being a fan, but "heard" only a few. They have obviously invested heavily in visual and lighting and video wiz kids. Get some sound engineers guys.

MM is a bone fide classic. Perhaps Jagger's masterpiece (if he's the sole writer). Perhaps, but I don't really care about that. It's a Stones classic. The best ever album close

It's rubbish. And for you, HMS, to say it is a fine later day Stones song, having recently posted that Moonlight Mile is unlistenable?!?!? Good grief...

Nice enough track I guess. But like the rest of the album, has all awful dull sound to it. There is just no snap to the record, production wise, just too sterile and muted.

QuoteRollingFreak Completely disagree. There's nothing to assume another album would be good, and at 70+ years old I don't know why anyone would expect from them. Based off their touring, it couldn't be clearer they are coasting (and I say that not with a negative connotation) and writing and recording an album seems like an enormous amount of work at this time, all for nothing as

In my opinion, and I am being a bit selfish here I know, but I agree they should release a new album. Primarily as I still see them as artists, not just a golden oldies act. And I KNOW they have been touring essentially the same show for decades. And AS artists, I hope they still have SOME creative juices in them, not just the desire to create bigger and "better" stage shows, but some N

God, those drums sound awful. Sounds like a plastic bucket half full of sand being hit. There's just no snap to them, no variation to their sound. Awful. Track itself is just so-so.
