QuoteBrstonesfan Well, I consider myself a Stones purist and chose not to listen to other classic rock bands, especially ones like Beatles, LZ, Floyd, Eagles, who many constantly say are so much better than the Stones. I like the Who because Pete has always credited the Stones and not put themdown like Bob Plant, Bono, and others.. Put down? Its just opinion. And basing your (narrowing your

QuoteHouseBoyKnows Quoteflacnvinyl Regarding Still Life, I am just comparing the old original vinyl release to the Hampton 81 recent re-release. Just the modern 'master the heck out of this thing so that people will bad sound systems hear the bass' technique. Back in the day, I remember being disappointed that Still Life sounded speeded up a fraction compared to the boots of Hampton

Quote24FPS I have a feeling this won't hold up under repeated listenings. Played it about 15 times to date...gets better every time. Suggest you actually give it a listen and ... time. Really, there's nothing wrong with it. Would you have prefered a 'live' record polished and 'replayed' in the studio ala The Eagles, or even Ya-Yas with its overdubs (and if I am

Scored U2 at MSG on July 27 last night....flying in from Perth Australia on July 22 Have ALWAYS wanted to attend a show at 'the Square' ever since I heard Ya-Yas...!! No Stones, Dylan, Petty or Beatles (!) whilst I am there, but U2 will suffice as I do enjoy them live

Great show. So little(none?) fanfare about its release. I am not sure if the complaining about this show, and the Stones in general in fact, doesn't say more about those who complain than about the Stones. Christ, they are in their 70s and they STILL rock out like this. I am approaching my 61st. I couldn't keep up with them in any shape or form. Yes, they aren't the same as t

Why record new music? They ARE supposed to be artists (musical) aren't they, you know, WITH a creative bent. Artists create. Musical artists... record music? I must be simple..

QuoteNoCode0680 I like several of the songs, but it doesn't work very well as an album for me. I really enjoy 2000 Man, Citadel, She's A Rainbow, and 2000LYFH. Since they're so spread out, the album doesn't really flow for me. Yep. I love these 4. Absolutely HATE the rest... which all sound dated. Whereas the 4 I do love, somehow sound almost modern.

QuoteStoneage Maybe so, Stonesburst. I didn't write the rules so I can't decide that. And yet you categorically state these posts ARE against the rules. Yet you can't decide if they are... You post for posting sake. Oh, I can't say THAT.

The version of Bitch on CD2 is absolutely stunning. Stonkingly great. Pulverlisingly stupendous. Wyman is incredible. Taylor is magical. Keith's the riffing machine and the horns just BLOW. Micks vocals are breathtaking. AND CHARLIE? Piledriving. All because Jimmy Miller has provided an awesome, rich, deep canvas that all the players just sweep in and out of with such precision and drive. My

Good luck to all. Should I fly in from Perth Western Australia and join in the fun...oh wait, takes me 30 hours to get there....nah, probably not worth it then! HOPE it IS recorded and released to DVD though! Though, thinking about it, the band will probably think they're a bit rusty first show outta the gate and nix THAT

Outta bed on the wrong side today I take it? Or are you always so civil? Good to see you're a fan who 'follows' the band too. Who's Karl Denson? Christ.

Quoteonlystones Keith has said on many occasions that he feels like he is levitating. I have felt that way many times watching the Stones. One time that comes to mind was at the National Car Rental Centre (Fort Lauderdale '99 NO SECURITY). I was eye level with Mick and Keith two rows back on the B-Stage. They played Midnight Rambler. I thought I was going to hyperventilate!!! Anyone else h
