In my humble opinion Jones or Taylor were key part of the Stones formula. You may find in any school of music more skillfull guitar players. And of course any average gypsy teen playing professioanlly flamenco in Sevilla is able to teach how to play guitar to Clapton, Wood, Taylor, Jones or Plant (and he would give that lesson while sleeping). But that´s another different story. They fit. And

This band has been captivated, fascinated millions of people for decades across the planet so in the end they can not even control the feelings of people towards them not even have an accurate idea of the numerous feelings they elicit on us. I for one am one of the big (and by the way growing) number of fans who is convinced that Bill added some inexplicabe taste, indefinable flavor to Stones

Quote: There was one er, interesting moment when Bill said that the next song was written by someone whom he didn't particularly like but that they always did one of his numbers: "...he has written some great songs but that's all he was good for...". I had no idea that he was going to launch into 'You Never Can Tell'! CB has not been always precisely praised

I love this song. Both versions. Each of them captures the truth, environment, context, texture of the singer and specially the "what I feel and what is expected from me" of the respective era. The first one transpires smoke liquor and beer though. The second one is clean and consistent with the 2011 Jagger. Otherwise it would be a fake version (I wish I knew better english to expr

Pasta is slang for money. Pasta refers also to the italian and pastry and overall muddy stuff. Spanish is not the perfect language for rock but... There was also a spanish band who worked with anglosaxon poetry. For example Edgar Allan Poe´s poem Anabel Lee by a band called Radio Futura. (I do not want to be a pain in the neck so I will only keep on posting on this OT thread if there a

This song is sung by a famous singer who was specially popular in the eighties and nineties. He is still on the road and he has developed a broad careers in terms of styles. He is also a stones fan and he played as opening act in the last Stones shows in Spain. He and his band composed a song devoted to Stones whose title is Sympathy for the Stones. This is other song: It may be the mos

I have read several stories about the dire economical situation lived by Bo Diddley specially in the last stages of his life, mostly due to bad contract management (as if he were abused and fooled by record companies). Sad.

After Steve Jobs passing we have read many things (more of for good than bad) about him. Some of them written or said by people who has got enough in life to deserve being read or heard. But some other have been said or written by people who I am still questioning myself who they are. The same for this Jagger issue: Who is this pedantic guy? I don´t mind if Jagger is harshly critizied, but t

Being now in my fourties life has put me too much challenges but in the past and for more years than advisable they played an excessive role in my life. I carefully listened several times at least a record everyday (with no exceptions) for several years in my teen years and early tweenties. And Stones became my only musical interest. Any other music I have heard was only becouse of its relation t

Hi James I meant to be replaced on 75 tour. It could happen this way - Hey Bill, we think you´d better let Ron play bass. We dont mean we don´t trust you but you know...it is not necessary for you to leave the stage..you may play something... - But... - Well...no "but" or "I think.." just pay attention: you dont play on FF OK? _ But... - Keith..Bill dont see

Hello everybody, I was watching the other day in youtube Finger Print File (LA Forum TOTA) and all of a sudden I heard strange bass lines: it did not sound as our beloved Bill Wyman can play. That sound was clean, professional, technically impeccable. But Wyman sound is heart, depth, hot, rhythm, volcano, blues, cadence, relentless advance...Wyman&Watts....make/made possible Rolling Stones
