Its anything but undisciplined. I think that as an album, EOMS flows better than almost any other I know. The whole thing has a rhythm of its own. The juxtaposition of tracks, the sequence of the 4 different sides is masterful. I recently digitized my vinyl and left a 7 second gap between each side to help keep that rhythm and flow. Somehow the whole thing just works.

I'm also a regular customer and fully understand the pre-order system--I got a good price on the deluxe GYYYO by pre-ordering. But come on, how is this a realistic price? Why would you jack it up to this insane level just because it was doing well (which I doubt)? And how can there be a shortage of something that doesn't even exist yet?

Well, I just checked it out today to see about pre-ordering and the price was 179.99. With a bit of luck the it will come down, but if not, then it's the $23.99 version for me. I truly love this album, but never in a million years am I going to pay that price. As Frank Zappa put it, "There's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over."

Deluxe (2CDs) $29.98 reduced to $23.99 Enhanced (2CDs, DVD, book, vinyl) $199.98 reduced to $179.99 !!!! If that end's up being the going rate for the enhanced edition, then they can shove it up their a$$. Extra book DVD or whatever. They must be bloody joking!

Quoteclapton71 I think you could have used that $$$$ for a more worthy cause. I don't know..............Haiti? What a waste. I think Children In Need is a pretty worthy cause. Good for them, I say!

I never take comments like these personnally. I've been involved with too many acrimonious online debates about the qulaity of so-called 'remasters'. These discussions end up going nowhere because it all depends on what equipment you use to edit and then listen. If you use crappy equipment/software to edit and playback then it's going to sound like crap. Similarly if use a mp

QuoteRank Stranger Thank you very much, Jos! Cannot say that this is superior to the DAC version,it sounds a bit thinly,it needs more bass! But then it probably won't be long until Mrs.Hop comes along and declares that DAC sounds like their usual remasters: "SSIYS= Stiff Socks Into Your Speakers" Maybe it's all a matter of taste, more or less! I think it all depend

Vancouver, many thanks for these tracks. It looks as if I have some more work to do! I already have the French radio broadcast, but the quality is pretty much useless for anything but curiosity.

Very glad to hear the positive responses. It did take me a lot of time to put this all together, but I really like the results and I'm glad others do as well. In particular, I was very pleased the way SFTD turned out. This is one of my favorite live versions, and I think the improved sound together with the audience participation really fit well together. It's just a pity the released

Quotebernardanderson i can see 3 bonus songs being on one cd alone. hell, i won't be surprised if the stones put the intro to a song on one cd, the verse onto another cd, and the chorus on a 3rd just to make more money. So you think they will make more money (ie sell more units to the general punter) from a more expensive multi-disc set than from a single disc? My guess is that there

Not much comment yet on how they will deal the main album. And that's what it's supposed to be all about right? Will this be another rehashed digi version (a remaster of a remaster) or a finely crafted update of the original vinyl? I have just made a new new rip from a clean vinyl copy. It really sounds great to my ears, and has never been bettered on CD, IMHO. So I hope they just s

OK, if anybody is interested my compilation is now up at HungerCity.org. As I say in the description, there are obviously other ways to put this together. Others might choose different versions to mine, or argue whether some of the tracks really belong here at all, but hey, that's life. The track listings and sources are as follows CD1 England 1969-1970 (61'59" ) 1969-06

So I suppose this was "officially" released. One of the reasons I ask is that I've just put together a collection of the best versions of the Exile Session tracks culled from about 15 different boots. I was thinking of putting it up on Dime, but if this track is considered official, then it won't fly there. Know why this version was pulled? Thanks.

I have a number of boots with this track. What's the story here? Is it considered an official release? Is it on any non-bootleg release?

Quotetatters Used to be that when you turned your amps up to "eleven" you'd get crackling, buzzing, and humming noises. See also, The Who, Live At Leeds, recorded at around the same time. The crackles on Live at Leeds have nothing to do with amp volume, and everything to do with bad connections between the stage mics and the soundboard.

QuoteEleanor Rigby now on a side topic, we now know there are 2 seperate audience tapes. 1. the usual tape we know of which is on many boots 2. a new tape that was available on DIME which was a guy from a local radio station going to the concert and recording it, then broadcasting it on a radio station...amazing. Some of these pics show the 2 different tapers...are these the 2 sources? There

According to the "Led Zeppelin Concert File" (Dave Lewis & Simon Palett - Omnibus Press): "Led Zeppelin were also in line to appear in The Rolling Stones Rock'n'Roll Circus Tv spectacular to be filmed at Intertel Studios, Wembley in December. After listening to an audition tape Mick Jagger felt their sound had too much emphasis on guitar and selected another up-and

Knebworth was the first and only big festival show I ever attended. I was an undergrad at Cardiff University and had been to many, many shows by then. After parking the car about 5 miles away (at least that's what it felt like on the way back 17 hours later), my mates and I arrived at the site about 9.30am and camped out about a third to half way back in the centre; not the greatest spot, bu
