Miss You San Diego 11/11/05 from onstage, all I heard was loud blaring guitars while getting a more behind the scenes view of how the B stage movement is handled.

I am going to the Forum show with my cousin. Its his third ever show and first one since Sacramento 2/6/99. Not just the Stones but most classic rock/metal bands in general the crowd has some die hards and a lot of people who seeing the band for the first time/only time/first time since '81 etc.

I hope they also play the exact same setlist in Las Vegas. Then I can use that setlist to help sell my potential extra Forum ticket.

As Gazza stated, tape recorders were a novelty but not sure if you should compare Zeppelin. Its always possible that they were taped by the same person who didn't attend any Stones shows or own any equipment earlier in the year. And there are lots of people who tape only for their own listening pleasure. Like the guy who recorded Atlanta '75. I met him at a Nine Inch Nails (!) show i

Audioslave is okay, nowhere near as good as RATM or Soundgarden. But at the free Hollywood Bl show when they did Killing In The Name it gave me chills and urge to get wild just like the old RATM shows in the club days. I had some equipment on me so I had to restrain myself. That was a good show.

Wow BV, you were obviously at different shows than me. The only thing well recieved in California during the new songs was the opportunity for another beer run or bathroom break.

"Argentina is a pure rock'n'roll counrty. It doesn't suffer as much from techno and the added gayness to 90's grunge." The Ramones could play stadiums there which proves Argentina might very well be the center of the rock universe.

"Would that still not be profitable? I mean the demand is there!" Well, I said profitible enough, which is profitible by Stones standards which are not the usual standards we or even most other money hungry bands live by.

>About the Toxic Twins good old drug days - What sort of stuff were they on anyway? Cocaine, heroin, pills, just about whatever they could get their hands on. That was Tyler and Perry. Tom Hamilton outgrew the hard drugs a lot earlier than the ohers, but they still "intervened" to get him to stop smoking pot!

I am not sure if '97 was a fluke. I saw them that year and it was incredibly boring, it was several tours later until I went back, and that was just to see the opener. I am quite happy with the shorter sets. It looks lame on paper but when I saw the Stones in Fresno, it seemed like 20 was too many for that crowd.

It isn't profitible enough but I think they should do an extensive tour down there when its summer again. From what I have seen of footage from previous shows its almost like they are a rock n roll band again.

Yeah Nine Lives (and the subsequent tour) and Just Push Play actually drove me off for awhile til I went to a gig because Cheap Trick was opening and they were totally "on" that night, and though it was still heavy on more recent material, they were starting to return to form.

I don't have any friends who dislike the Stones but I have a quite a few who don't care for what they have become and lost interest over the years, and I also have a lot of rock fanatic friends who simply will not pay over a certain amount for a concert ticket or set foot in an arena or stadium just to see a band. Pretty much all things I can respect the same way they way they respect t

They are still rocking. Actually in the live department, they are rocking a lot harder now than in the 90's. Here is are some comments I posted from Wedensday's show at Staples Center in Los AngeleS. Only 3 songs from the MTV era: I was going to go see Supergrass last night but it was sold out and after seeing the setlists for this particular tour I knew I couldn't pass it up.

The great thing is they change their sound from album to album to keep it interesting for themselves, not bandwagon hopping. I saw a nice 30 min acoustic set at Amoeba Music but not the sold out Troubadour show which I didnt even hear about til after it sold out and I blew off the Hollywood gig Wed to go see Aerosmith.

Sicilian - you beat me to it. Stones tickets are too damn expensive, I sure as hell don't want to have to buy 2! As a matter of fact I would prefer a women who doesn't like to go to concerts at all. However, complaining about my habit of listening to heavy metal in the morning in order to even make out the door would be grounds for immediete dismissal.

There is an interesting interview with David Coverdale at www.metalsludge.tv You don't have to necessarily be a fan to enjoy the interviews there. As a much of fact you can appreciate them more if you aren't a fan.

Where are you Born On The Bayou? In LA 2003 we got Flaming Lips and Mike Watt. I didn't go but I had some friends who went. Mike Watt is awesome live but not sure how well he goes over playing a 30 min set in an arena at 7:00 The best Chili Peppers openers I ever saw were at some benefit at the Palladium right after Lollapalooza 92. Mudhoney, L7/Joan Jett, The Fluid, Hammerbox and Courtn
