My mom took me to see in the theatre when I was 9 years old. It was an incredible experience. It was what moved the Stones ahead of the pack of other bands I was listening to at the time (Journey, SKynyrd, assorted classic rock records an uncle left in my room when he went into the navy). I was immedietly hooked as a Stones fan for life. I didn't have every album and song memorized so I didn

I would prefer a new album. I love the Stones but it doesn't really matter me if they tour or not.

Ooops I should have clarified I was referring to the possibility of future solo tours. Can't imagine Mick doing places any bigger than the Keith 88 & 93 tours.

Not sure Mick would like playing half empty theatres though it may not matter as much to Keith

Actually I get the impression this time Keith and Charlie said "we tour" and Mick followed. Based on comments on both the Licks tour and this tour I don't think he really wants to tour anymore even if he does like performing.

He did the music for the horror classic "Return Of The Living Dead." Not bad music either. Was just watching it last weekend and saw his name in the credits. Can't say I blame him for anything, not if he was just contributing what the band wanted.

Miss You sounds great this tour. Its not going anywhere. Most of the crowd really likes it. And its the type of song that survive any technical problems while they are far above their techs. But Petco Park from my perspective totally lit up when they played this song.

There are plenty of places they can play in North America without hitting the same markets. They seem to do pretty good in Canada in places they havent played in a while so maybe more arena shows there and in the south and midwest. Wouldnt be surprised if they did 2 more at the Hollywood Bowl since that was a tight ticket.

Decent taper seats are too expensive. And not much point in spending a lot of money recording multiple shows that I will never have time to listen to, then give them out so others can inevitibly make a lot of money off them. MAking 1 good recording this tour (totally by accident too) was more than enough.

I think they did 2 short rehearsals with Bernard Fowler singing. Montreal 1/8/03 and Quebec City 98 didn't have any tour debuts at all either.

U2 sold more tickets in the U.S. When you include their worldwide figures, then it IS the top tour of the year.

I have never been much for mixing, I just plug my DAT into a standalone, adjust the levels and let her go. But I downloaded a Sound Forge demo version on my moms computer and played around with my Anaheim recording. It wasnt really a taper trip since I never intended to spend more than $20 on a ticket. Played around a bit with disc 2. Disc 1 will be the tricky part. Gotta reduce the bass a bit if

Current events (but they are getting too depressing so lately I have been tuning out world events and concentrating mostly on true crime and obituaries). Politics - I am fascinated by campaigning and elections in themselves more than mere "issues" though I must admit its likely due to reading "Fear And Loathing On The Campaign Trail" than anything else. bootleg collecti

I think I heard a figure of $500,000 a night for merchandise for San Francisco. Most of the stuff such as T shirts are very cheap to manufacture. Actually merchandise is really good business for touring acts, especially those with a recognizeable trademark such as the Stones, KISS, Ramones, Iron Maiden etc.

No figures were ever reported so those numbers were based on estimates of what Pollstar thought the average price multiplied by venue capacity. And these are North American dates only, U2 would likely be the top grosser worldwide due the $4-7 million they raked in for each Euro stadium show.

What would Sister Morphine know? Those leeches don't have a clue if they don't have it for sale. Can't really say I know him personally anymore but some friends from high school knew him and he gave us all a ride to an Alice Cooper show in 1990. I had already been taping for a year and a half at that time and had some of his stuff already. He talked a bit about past experiences

St Paul isn't missing - I saw it on a trade list but you have to be able to make DAT clones to get it.

Actually over 10,000 homeless people live in downtown L.A. Excellent series of articles about it here Inglewood is supposedly a high crime area but I have taken the bus to the Forum and back and done some walking in the area without any problems. Amoeba is a great place to hang out, they actually have a stage and the occassional free gigs (including touring artists etc)

There was someone selling outside of San Jose 99 but it didn't do anything. Or so I heard.

My last tour was No Security. Then they announced a theatre gig in 2002, so I had to go to that. I don't care if they tour any more or not, if its convenient or I can score a cheap ticket I am there. If not, I have plenty of existing memories so I don't feel compelled to create new ones but if they want to keep doing it I am not going to begrudge them for it.

Cohl isn't some evil mastermind, he is just another hired hand doing what exactly what the band wants him to. I don't think the Stones care about whatever ridiculous image we would like to project on them, they just want their money and as much of it as they can squeeze out of us. And look at the sales of A Bigger Bang - just the music doesn't sell anymore.

I was going to go to a barbecue in Texas and shoot some machine guns and blow up an old car but the guy I was going with tweaked too hard and ended up spending his vacation at the Twin Towers Spa & Resort downtown instead.

I will check them out anyway. Saw Kyuss open for Faith No More and they bored the hell out of me. QOTSA opened for Nine Inch Nails at the Hollywood Bowl and I messed with people trying to sell me tickets by telling them it sounds as good out here as it does where that seat is at until someone came along and sold me a great seat for $15. I had a pit ticket to the Halloween show with The Cramps, To

Security measures vary by artists - I think there was a slight hand frisk at Motley Crue 05 and KISS/Aerosmith 03 and wands at Aerosmith/Cheap Trick 02. There have been metal detectors at all 2005 Stones shows I have seen but they are a piece of cake, I prefer those to the tight hand searches. Find a filmer, buy them a ticket and understand the risks involved.
