RHCP jealous of the Stones drawing power my ass. Looks like they have their own legacy independant of the what the Stones have built. I don't even follow the band, but I definitely remember this: The RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS have been confirmed as one of the leading musical attractions in the world after shocking promoters with ticket sales of $17 million (GBP9.4 million) - for just thre

Seems the STones have a habit of totally reaming their hardcore fan base so that might have something to do with it. Look at San Francisco, one of the Stones biggest markets - average price was over $140.

Faith No More is my all time favorite band (besides the Ramones) so I guess I would take them over RHCP any day too.

Apparently Paul Stanley had high standards and would have supermodel types on the road with him for a week at a time while Gene had no standards whatsoever.

I used to always see the openers. Now I miss them a lot only because concert tickets are so overpriced that I have to wait for the price to come down. I have a personal policy of only paying what I want to for concerts. But the first several years I went to concerts the place was almost always packed when the opener came on. Sometimes the opener would blow away the headliner and even the die hard

The Stones didn't play. Not sure if Keith made an appearance but I think I would have heard about it by now if he did. No way Mick is singing 3 nights in a row these days.

Like any other band these days, their drawing power varies from market to market. They may not even be a stadium act in the bay area any more since they had to put Metallica on the bill to sell tickets.

Queens Of The Stone Age? Cant say I am all that into them but I will make an effort to see them since I already have the tickets. Had to wait them out when they opened for NIN so the price could come down.

If you can't rock out to Jumpin' Jack Flash, Satisfaction, SFTD, IORR, Start Me Up etc then you are one of the lame ass people who just needs to stay home. And on the Voodoo Lounge tour (when the "change" was quite apparent), other than a few hits the setlist was almost totally different than the previous tour. And yep, his comments totally hit the mark - the Stones don

Top class to a true classless poster but total disrespect to the 45,000 people who bought tickets, many of whom paid just to see Iron Maiden. I've seen Iron Maiden 10 times and always a top notch performance with amazing energy and the music played perfectly. Last 2 albums were great too.

0 - without a guarantee of low cost theatre tickets, I cannot justify the expense. Or maybe I am just not that big of a fan.

She gets publicity by creating bad blood between herself and others. I remember when I used to love Ozzy, before I saw what was behind the curtain.

I have seen them 4 times. I should have gone last time because Mike Watt opened but I think I was in the throes of concert burnout (when I go to 10-15 concerts in a 4 - 6 week week period then suddenly dont want to go to another one no matter who is playing)

I was at both of them. It was a lot of fun, I am not the biggest RHCP fan but their set was a lot of fun and it was an energetic performance. I know there was a lot of whining on some of the boards over some comments Anthony Keidis made about these shows in his autobiography but I thought they were spot on.

The Rose Bowl was Rolling Stones/Red Hot Chili Peppers/Buddy Guy I think Buddy Guy played 40 and RHCP played 55 and it was Dave Navarro on guitar. They weren't on tour at the time, they just did a handful of scattered gigs and it was a similiar set to Woodstock '94. Originally the Stones were supposed to do 3-4 nights and I guess they wanted to get a strong opener to move a lot of ti

I live in southern California where great guitar players as well as future and former rock stars are a dime a dozen. Not very impressed by guitar playing alone. It takes a great BAND to make great music. The Stones were always greater than the sum of the parts. Mick Taylor was great as a member of the Stones but is mostly boring on his own (much like Mick Jagger actually).

One guy with an acoustic guitar and piano does not have to follow a setlist with a corresponding lighting pattern. He can just take the stage and start playing what he wants. The nature of this tour is that its deliberately geared and marketed to a core audience (a type of audience the Stones have never recognized) hence the average attendance of 3-6,000 a night. Not only do the Stones deliberate

Buddy Guy was decent at the Rose Bowl in 1994. He only played 35-40 mins and got offstage before he could get boring. Blues doesn't really translate well in an arena or stadium stadium most of the time. Also the Stones don't really need to make an effort to get a good opener if they don't need help selling tickets and if most of the people will still be in the parking lot. The d

Its been slightly expanded and I added an audio list to web page. I may not be able to find all audio on the list but I know where the Stones are. I am on dialup so I am not downloading or uploading anything at this time. Also I am still kind of old fashioned when it comes to these things. Prefer to keep it within the US only as I don't have too many stamps and don't want to go anywhe

But if supply is manipulated then it really isn't supply and demand. But they should sell the $1000 seats right through Ticketmaster for people who don't know where to look for the VIP packages. Where I sat in Fresno is a good example of the kind of seat that should cost $1000, in major markets at least. For a real tale of supply and demand you can read my write up of the Fresno tick

It was a slow seller but only because of the timing of the onsale. It will be a sleeper if they dont add another show (and I dont see how). The price might drop on the $450s but will go up on the seats in the lower tiers. Definitely get one if possible before showing up as the Forum is in Inglewood, outside the Los Angeles city limits, and you have to be careful parking lot cruising since the PD

I think the top price in America should be $1000 minimum. Not for all tickets in what is currently the top tier but perhaps a 5th price level for only the closest lower level and floor seating. They could easily sell the best 500-1000 seats in the house at that price range. As a matter of fact I think they are being too generous and catering to the unwealthy and the die hard fans by not doing so.

I see where Ferrante is coming from. Back when the first 2 concerts had the same setlist and all the howling and complaining was flooding the boards, it was my own personal opinion that they shouldn't have to change the setlist to cater to a small minority of people of questionable sanity. And if that means playing Beast Of Burden every night so the person who only goes to 1 show can enjoy i
