QuoteJDSAM1994 If anyone is looking to see a good show in-between stones shows. Checkout Daniel Donato at the Chop Shop June 28th & 29th. He is a hell of a guitar player and has created a fusion style of Country chickn Pickn and dead head, he calls it Cosmic Country. Well worth $35. I would go as far to say he is a modern master of the Telecaster. I second this, enthusiastically. I just

So, Mick took a shot at Governor Landry ("...trying to take us back to the Stone Age...") at the NO show which seemed rather unseemly. The Governor gave as good as he got ("...Mick REMEMBERS the Stone Age...") and woke up to the lead story in the Sunday Times Picayune stating that he (Landry) is polling even better now than when he was elected. I love the Rolling Stones wit

I have more than enough Stones merchandise. Today's presentation of new Stones merchandise more than proves I have all the Stones merchandise I'll ever need already. RIP Charlie. At least he knew how to pick designs with humor and class.

A remix of the vastly underrated IORR would be welcome. Something to bring air and openness to that stuffy sounding record. Also, there are other Guy Peelhardt portraits of the Stones that could be used on a “part 2.”

"Johnny Cougar" is probably still haunted by his memorable performance at the University of Toledo student union in 1976. Nearly 1,000 people came because it was free. A few dozen were left when the show ended an hour later... John was a surly jerk then too... "Don't start me talkin', I'll tell you everything I know..." --- Sonny Boy Williamson II

My predictions: 1. No more than 18 songs. 2. Essentially the same template as the last decade as far as starting with JJF or SFM and ending with the opposite song followed by Satisfaction. 3. Two songs from "Hackney Diamonds" each night, SSOH plus either "Angry", "Whole Wide World" or "Mess It Up." 4. Still no "Brown Sugar." What I

I'm sure Ghost Hounds will be back to play their staid, soulless rock and roll. I've heard openers PAY the Stones in exchange for the exposure and that the leader of Ghosthounds (the older guy on keyboards at stage right) is some retired software developer with mega-bucks who hired a band straight out of central casting so as to live out his rock and roll fantasies. Anybody else heard t

Likely there were no lyrics at the 23 minute version. They used to just jam on an idea for an extended period then edit out the bad parts and marry the good parts together into a base track and then either work from it or over it.

In 1991 a friend of mine and I traveled 3+ hours to see Keith do the Soundstage taping at the PBS affiliate in Chicago. They'd given away far too many tickets and about half the people in line were turned away including us as we reached the near front of the line. Amidst all the shouting and grumbling, as people left, I corralled a floor manager and explained we'd driven nearly four hou

QuoteMassimo68 Quoterbk Of course ABKCO could remix their Stones catalog, but why? Would they make it sound better - or merely different? For the same reason as the Beatles' blue and red albums: $$$$$$$ (we're talking about ABKCO ) Announcing a new Satisfaction's stereo mix would be a magnet for press agencies. And publicity for the launch of a new compilation. And possibl

I was at this show on the opposite side of the person who shot the video, about forty feet from Keith. The "bridge" wasn't done yet so they walked out to the second stage, eye level with the audience. Jagger was a bit nervous. Once they got out to us they relaxed and delivered the awesome performance you see here. They also did "The Last Time" and "Let It Bleed."

They passed out little catalog booklets at every tour from Steel Wheels through No Security that were loaded with merch not offered at the shows, most of it on the chintzy side. I seem to recall album themed shirts therein.

Between his soul, skill and songwriting ability Welbourne has essentially saved The Pretenders and Chrissie. "Relentless" has some of the best songs the "band" has ever done. To be fair it also has some of the worst.

Re: Chicago. Has anyone else had AXS throwing up a box saying "Ooops, sorry! Your session has expired" as soon as you get in? It's been happening to me since the pre-sales. If you had this issue and resolved it, what did you do?

I got shut out of Chicago for LDs. The couple times I did get in AXS said "my session had expired" and kicked me off. AXS makes T'master look good.

SKEE-roo it! I struggled with AXS/Chicago for half the day. Then I looked at New Orleans. $465 buys the Stones AND THE NEXT THREE DAYS of the festival! No brainer. Chicago is near me so I can drive there but I'll get Lucky Dips.

AXS blows. It takes forever to get in and then it doesn't link up. Then it tells you "your session is expired" and wants you to repeat the process. GRRRR!

Quotekovach Soons as it let me in on AXS and asked for my code, soon as I entered it said I timed out and start over. :-( Me too. I still haven't gotten in.

QuoteIrix QuoteDandelionPowderman Didn't check out the link, but could he be in a different time zone (Australia, New Zealand etc.) where the album is released? Yes, that's why it's now available via Apple Music and Qobuz. Fortunately they have no geo-blocking. Qobuz does in Michigan. GRRR!

QuoteNashvilleBlues ...They probably won’t announce anything until Spring 2024. Correct. That's because they don't know themselves. Too many ancillary factors like health and insurance, etc. As the Stones have demonstrated, repeatedly in the last decade, they have a roughly four month window to put together a fifteen date tour and then pull it off.

The Stones recorded enough material for two albums in the "Some Girls" sessions. The follow up was "Emotional Rescue." Be careful what you wish for.

After all of these years the album is going to be as good as they can make it. That’s going to have to be good enough and all this silly bickering won’t change that.
