Applebees is like McDonalds but with liquor added. Somebody in Stones world licenses those songs so it's on them. Applebees should at least add Shepherd's Pie to the menu though.

Even now the majority of people attending a stadium Stones concert have never seen them before. Jagger knows this and points to the majority of ticket buyers who would be very disappointed not to hear "Miss You" or "Tumbling Dice." Kind of like going to Disneyworld and missing Splash Mountain. For this reason, and the band's advancing ages shortening the shows, the trunca

A basketball?!? A soccer ball maybe but come on. It's like the Stones have hired Gene Simmons to run their merchandising arm. Gaudy and tasteless works for KISS but the Stones should be treated a bit more reverently.

I was too young in '72 but I contributed to Houghton's Queen, Zep and Cream books as well as his forthcoming Faces tome. Yeah, I don't get paid AND I have to buy the damned books but I don't care, it's an enjoyable exercise and it's nice to know it's written down somewhere.

QuoteRockman Dolly should do Little T&A ..... That would not be apropos. This will be one of those records that everyone will listen to once and get a nice laugh. Never to be heard from thereafter.

About 25 years ago a poor lady drove almost an hour to my home at the behest of a record store owner friend of mine. She had what she thought was a valuable Rolling Stones poster from the 1969 tour. She was more than a little crestfallen when I explained that the Stones did not play Cincinnati in 1969 and Joe Cocker didn't open for them on that tour. Moreover the photo of the band on the

The artists are entirely complicit with TM and Livenation (or whomever) and their pricing schemes. Don’t think for a minute they aren’t. If you want be be angry, fine, but be mad at the at ALL the guilty parties including your rock and roll heroes. I’ve seen people here (and elsewhere) who think TM alone keeps all that extra filthy lucre. That’s stupid.

It's a fun show, worth the time and money spent if you don't take it too seriously. I saw them a few years ago without Perry who'd just had a heart attack. Alice plays Alice mostly strutting around with a fencing sword and Depp plays a rock star acting like he's playing guitar pretty convincingly. The set list is Classic Rock 101.

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteGetYerAngie Quoterolling1us QuoteDoxa Quoterbk Seventeen songs is TOO MANY! You'd think they'd have learned that with Voodoo and A Bigger Bang. 4-5 of the seventeen won't be nearly as good and will drag down the whole effort. But shouldn't we first hear the album in order to say if there are too many songs or not... - Doxa Completely agree with

They filmed the Hard Rock Hotel show last year. They only played 17 songs but did so impeccably. A recording/video would provide a perfect summation of the last two tours (with Jordan).

QuotePaddy Slane 2007 was a bit of a mud bath. Not as bad as Alpine Valley in 1989. Chicago 2006 was cold but not below freezing. It just seemed like it. Washington DC, opening night in '94. Steamy temps were still in the upper 80s(F) when it ended.

In recent years every city has gotten a song unique to that city within the tour. I saw them do "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" in Detroit and "Harlem Shuffle" in Newark for example. It's a nice way to placate the ardent fans while giving everyone else the 16 warhorses they paid for.

Ticketmaster DID NOT create "dynamic pricing" out of whole cloth and simply decide to foist it on an unsuspecting world. Artists and promoters have long been in search of a method to defeat scalpers and ultimately, unable to beat them they decided to join them. The logic is irrefutable: if people are going to pay scalpers big money why shouldn't the artists and promoters i.e. THE R

As much as people like to beat up on Ticketmaster they are only providing a service priced in relation to what the (price determined BY THE ARTIST) ticket costs. Apparently artists, management, venues and promoters sometim

I can’t think of anyone other than The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney who charge that much for face value tickets. Am I missing someone? Recently? The Who, Eagles, Clapton and Genesis for starters.
